My shoe size is 13W, which limits what I can find and wear😪
ОтветитьI love my baggy jeans with oversized shirt.😊😊😊
ОтветитьDont rolled up sleaves on your shirt cut your arms off like capris do?
ОтветитьHorizontal stripes are a hug gripe for me. I have a large bust, and do NOT want to make it look bigger!
I also live in Florida, synthetic fabrics are the invention of a demon. But finding plus size natural fiber clothing is hard, and finding linen is near impossible. Style & shape take a distant back seat to not having heatstroke if I walk a block outside on a summer day.
Hola Oralia. I'm 62, 5'1 and 218lbs. For sure I don't want to dress old or too young either. There has to be a balance. I'm not a capri pants person. Never was and never will. I'm short so to me Capri's make me seem shorter. wide legs pants for me are a big no-no. For us short girls it makes us look shorter and wider. Long dresses for me, depend on the way they are on top. If they're V-neck, off-the-shoulder, or a halter, yes, but if they're round neck or high neck, then no. Definitely, it will make me look like a chunky midget. I try to stay away from prints. Florals heck no! Round necks are a big no for me. Stripes I avoid also. I love dresses and for me, the A-line accentuates my body type. I'm a pear-shaped kind of girl. Very curvy. I wear them above my knee, again I'm short and for me something below my knee makes me look shorter. I also love shorts. I'm in Florida so shorts are my go-to. Shoes at my age, I have learned that now, comfort comes before style so I don't wear heels higher than 2 1/2 and the heel has to be wide. I find that wedges are great for me. I don't own black color sandals or shoes. I don't own black purses either. I do not like black shoes or purses. I do have lots of accessories that I tried to incorporate as best as I can, always keeping it classy and neat. I don't want to look like "Jewel Freak." The pink print dress you showed at the end looks so nice on you, totally my style. Thanks for showing me what works for you.
ОтветитьI really like most of your ideas, though some are just not doable for me; due to disability I have misshapen feet with additional oedema in my lower legs and feet, so heels are not even remotely an option, neither are some dainty flats. I'm rocking my orthopaedic, square stompers (that make me look like I stole my daughter's roblox character's feet) to everything, leisure wear and formal dresses. And yes, I see the stares I get, my feet are disabled, my eyes and brain are okay, it's just nothing I can help. :)
It's such a great idea to show the type of garment you are talking about, and show your personal clothing items, as well. All the love for you.
Thanks!
ОтветитьI have been physically dealing with numerous health issues. The doctors recently figured out what was going no & is been a blessing. But, I have now lost 50 pounds but have about 70 to go. Finding things that fit & are in my limited budget is hard but you have given me so much help in figuring out how to dress. I am only 4ft 10 inches tall. Imagine how hard it is to find something that fits. I buy a pant & have to cut off 8 inches or so off which means the “knee” area comes to my ankle. SO you have really helped me to see what I need to do. Thank you, Thank you.
ОтветитьThat white dress at the beginning of vid looks gorgeous on you, ty for all the tipsxx
ОтветитьI really dislike wide leg pants on a big woman. You can't take advantage of parts of your body that aren't big! You look big all the way down.
ОтветитьElasticated???
ОтветитьThanks so much.
ОтветитьI agree 100% with you. The big sizes dresses, blouses shirts even shoes are horrible. Is saying that the 90 years old people designed that clothing colors are horrible styles, fabrics are horrible, everything
ОтветитьYes, the capris are horrible. The long shirts are horrible. The collars are horrible.
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьGA Lady O, could you plz provide me with advice on how to dress my extra large chest 48 J/K at the age of 42. I've been looking sloppy and hating my wardrobe. I need to dress my age size and body shape. Big chest, big stomach, 42 age. Hellllllppppp. Plz Thank you
ОтветитьI have never thought of capris as flattering on any person, whether large or small. A casual summer dress is just as comfortable as capris and much more flattering.
ОтветитьYes I do want to look like I’m 30. What overweight senior woman doesn’t?
ОтветитьThank you for excellent advice!
ОтветитьI would like to have a stylish pair of shoes. I really would. But my foot is too long for it. I have EU 43 size (I think it's 10 in the US) and our shops sell women's shoes till 42 size. Too small for me. So I have to buy what is and what I can buy without trying from foreign eShops. So I've never had stylish shoes and I will probably never have.
ОтветитьI am tall with long legs and apple shaped. It's nearly impossible to find well fitted Bermuda shorts with the proper inseam. Cropped pants look ridiculous, like they shrank in the wash, and they add pounds. Straight leg non knit capris, work for me.
ОтветитьI keep on the lookout at second hand shops for great purses. I have a really nice selection of fun and sophisticated bags that have not bankrupted me!😊
ОтветитьAgree. Whoever thought that plus size woman like to look like a burlap sack of potatoes or a hot pink and turquoise snake in bulge hugging spandex? I’m age 67 and ridiculous in styles for 20 somethings. Huge florals? Aren’t they called mumus? No thanks! I sew my own clothes for custom fit and complimentary colors and patterns.
ОтветитьYou are very personable- almost like you were here taking to me here in my apt- Boston, MA. Never liked capris, peddle pushers. I like the yellow tee pictured. I at 74 still have natural (uncolored) natural platinum blonde, silvering, hair and blue eyes. I wear colors to compliment my collection and accessorize with my extensive, eclectic jewelry collection. I have never followed fashion per se. Works for me.
ОтветитьI am under whelmed by the prevalence of neutrals featured in so many clothing ads, in part because the colors entirely "wash ne out."
ОтветитьMy husband hates capris. They do look frumpy.
ОтветитьI love rayon caftans from India. I have 3 that are tie-dyed. My neighbors think I wear the same outfit everyday. 😅
ОтветитьI have not felt beautiful since my wedding day. I was a size 8. I do not have a waist and i used to love dresses, now I have problems putting one on because I feel like my belly is highlighted. I wear jeans and blouses that are not oversized. I still don't feel beautiful (i have to look in the mirror every day) but at least a little better.
ОтветитьI understand your approach but for me these suggestions are incredibly boring.
ОтветитьYour thoughts highlight an important aspect of personal style and self-awareness. Fashion is indeed deeply connected to how we perceive ourselves and the respect we have for our own identity. Some women naturally possess an innate understanding of what flatters them, while others may prioritize comfort over trends.
Ultimately, confidence and individuality play crucial roles in how we express ourselves through clothing. It’s also essential to recognize that everyone’s journey in finding their style is different, and that diversity in fashion choices can enrich our communities. Embracing what makes us feel good, regardless of societal expectations, is a powerful form of self-expression.
Wide leg, draw-string linen pants are beautiful, elegant and flowy if paired with a plain, sleeveless, v-neck blouse over it just skimming the bum. Wear flat or slightly elevated tslop (casual) sandals with them. If you're a plus size or have a tummy, never tuck a blouse inside the pants. Never wear belts either. It draws attention to your already bloated waistline!
ОтветитьHi Oralia
ОтветитьDarn it! That's my favorite outfit! Capri with t shirt. 😂
ОтветитьI love leopard and roses! Looks knock out on me. Soooo many compliments.
ОтветитьLane Bryant....worst clothing ever!! I often wonder who the heck designs these clothes? You would think being a clothes line for larger sizes they would put some thought into their clothing but, no, they don't....awful and ridiculous pricing to boot.
ОтветитьHeels are torture devices!
ОтветитьThank you so much, i am 1,53 cm short and plus size. Capri are the only trousers that i dont have to cut😂
ОтветитьThank you! My whole life I have tried to just cover up!
ОтветитьJust found you! Where have I been …?
I really like what you say, how you say it, why you say it and how you support what you are saying with photos, examples, etc.!
As a healthy 80+ lady, I love fashion, staying current, dressing to enhance my style and. Dry tired of being ignored by the fashion industry. Thanks for your channel!
My stylish son took me shopping 10 yrs ago. He was surprised how hard it is to find something that looks nice on my the 3x. I said, I TOLD you that plus size clothing is forced bad taste! There are much better choices now, thank goodness!
Ответить'old'....'old lady'....hmmm
ОтветитьThank you, all very sound advice. Having had numerous injuries to my feet and ankles I am always stuck for foot ware with dresses. A video on this subject would be great appreciated
ОтветитьThank you for the health and business update. I appreciate the kind, empathetic way you approach clients, and your positive yet gentle expression of your faith God and in this community. You are a treasure! I donated to your Go Fund Me, and I will pray for a successful surgical outcome and a return to robust health for you. 🙏
ОтветитьHow do you care for your linen dresses? I have a wide foot and have feet trouble. It is tough finding shoes.
Ответитьi need hope i'm 45 and plus i am a teacher so have to be comfortable but i don't know how to look good at this point
ОтветитьI like capris. But I’m tall so…..
ОтветитьI totally disagree with everything thing you said. I am plus size lady. I think plus lady look beautiful in capris and tee shirt
ОтветитьI totally disagree with everything thing you said. I am plus size lady. I think plus lady look beautiful in capris and tee shirt
ОтветитьI have to disagree about the dress length. Many people say wear it so that it hits the thinnest point of your leg. Usually that’s at the knee or a bit longer. I think midi and especially maxi lengths are really aging to a woman unless you are lucky enough to be slim.
ОтветитьPreach!
