back in February of this year my family was replacing our old flooring with plastic flooring that look like wood i took some of the left over flooring cut it into shape and sharpened it, it could cut fruits nicely but it cant cut skin after a while i had accidentally hit a branch and it broke, RIP plastic sword 2023-2023

(edit 2) i didnt have any fancy tools just a saw, cardboard, a knife, hot glue gun, and sandpaper

The handle should stick together with a slit to the side at the sticking point.. so that the handle is stronger.

Edit: meaning the two halves sticking together at the handle area shouldn't be 1/2 + 1/2, but it's better to have a slanted 1/2 + 1/2

It's crazy how you can make wooden swords for cheap! All you need is $60,000 worth of tools and BAM!

I don’t have any wooden floor pieces handy. What type of wood would be good for this project…maybe some white or red oak? Thanks! I definitely want to make one. I don’t have a CNC (yet), but I’m sure that there are other ways to make a cool looking handle.

Good Post. An idea- Samurai Blades often come in sets of three; KATANA, WAKIZASHI, TANTO so consider adding the other two. BOKEN for another project. Consider working with a Blade Martialist to create a properly weighted IAIDO cutter and matching sheath so you can do actual KATAS .
