Some games have built in settings and system to render the game with Rasterized or Ray Tracing. Some games are developed completely using lighting software that is built around Ray Tracing. All card brands are capable of Ray Tracing.

The biggest thing when deciding about ray tracing, if it affects your buying process, is what games you play. For example, I play a lot of stuff like Dayz, Arma, Tarkov, And early access shooters using unreal engine 4 and 5 with lumen lighting. Not all of the games mentioned handle ray tracing the same. Just know your games and how they work. A great majority of the games I want to play in the near future might have ray tracing baked into some of the lighting, and may be unoptimized in the first place. However, the RT performance with 16GB AMD cards at the $500 price range at 1440p is fine for most games, as well as the niche ones I want to play.

TLDR: If you’re worried about RT performance, save your money 6 months longer and build a top notch 4k build with a rtx4090. That’s where you’ll see your money well spent on new tech. Otherwise, cost per frame, tailored to your budget, shooting for 100fps; is the most solid way to decide on a long lasting gaming build.

My 7 year old 2080Ti 11GB Blows away the 4060Ti 8GB and 3070 8GB still to this day, its a beast for less in the used market. Nvidia really did a sleezy thang with the 4060 series, even the 3060 12GB beats the 4060 8GB! lol

I noticed that you included some of the last gen cards that cost around 300 with the under 500, which has current cards that out preform them, The 3060 and 6700 line up probably should have gone with user 300, because you can get them for under 300, and they outclass the other under 300 options

but you left out the flaming hot question on the 4090 how many are Melting the power connecter as there are way more then Nividia will tell you about along with the fact of them being mini heaters when it was in my small apartment bedroom if door was closed the temp in room would go up by 12-18 degrees in room after about 1 hour of play time of course this goes for all Gaming rigs the mini heater part so far it's just the 4090 that I've heard about melting power connecters

Ive had 3 AMD cards and two Nvidia cards since December 2023. Go with NVIDIA. DLSS is a game changer and any "performance" you thought you were getting with AMD would be balanced out by it

Doesn't the 4090 have a connector issue where it either melts/,overheats or both and has a habit of coming loose - this problem usually starts to occur about 6 months(plus) using the 4090.

So I used (I still 'like' videos that pop up for the algorithms) to watch hours of your content when looking for my new PC specs. I return to you again due to my graphics card committing die. Thanks again for your quick whit and expert assistance in this matter 😁

Edit: i have some to a conclusion that i wont need the 4070 ti super bc it only gives more ram and slightly higher clock speed and the 4070 super will be enough for my needs, they are withing 10% of eachother and its more then enough for me
