As a kid I always wanted to know what number Frieza's scooter hit before it broke. Toriyami probably didn't want to state the number because he knew there was no believable reason a sensu bean and a nap brought Vegeta from 30k to close to first form Frieza's power level.

Vegeta has waited his whole life for this moment and he went toe-to-toe. Gotta love it!

Bruce Faulcner is still a fucking genius. This is still the perfect OST for DBZ in America. Grunge industrial techno metal or w/e you wanna call it. Somehow it perfectly captured the intensity of the fights as well as the mysticism of all these powerful warriors with their advanced energy abilities.

Frieza's power level in his first form is said to be 530,000. Judging by Gohan's and Krillin's reaction when he first powered up, he was clearly at that level here. Yet not only did Vegeta catch a head-on charge and hold him back, Frieza was clearly shocked at whatever his power level was. If Vegeta wasn't equal to Frieza here, he was clearly damn close. I have to wonder what number showed on the Scouter before it exploded.

Though to be honest, I secretly wanted Goku to fight Frieza right after he beat Recoome and the Ginyu Force. I wanted to see Goku fight Frieza in his first form, because he was so powerful after training in space.
