The thing I’ve noticed about the anti-woke stuff is that people are mad that it’s not a white man or something like that. I say that, because games have had some semblance of politics since 2010. Like “Screw these political woke ass games, I’m going to play Skyrim and join the Stormcloaks.” Now, I think it should be called out when a creator of art focuses a lot on the ‘wokeness’ of there thing, because it likely means that the product isn’t good and it undermines the politics in a way. I also don’t like it when a game is rereleased and they censor an aspect that didn’t make sense, in GTA 5, the characters being transphobic was in character and I believed they usually got really bad stuff to happen to them.

RE4 VR removes a lot of Leon’s character and makes Ashley come off as a dick because they removed any scene that could be viewed as flirty because the people doing the release thought it was “sexual harassment.” There is one case of it, but then gets immediately called out for it. They removed the catcalling but not the calling out.

There is an art to being woke, it’s usually at it’s best when if doesn’t focus on the wokeness in a weird way, instead have it be natural.

Also, woke is a stupid word. Having a character of color, having a woman or both, is not woke. You just don’t like people who aren’t you.
