Why Abaddon is a TERRIBLE Antagonist

I simp hard for Abaddon.

To be honest no 40k characters are relatable, except for the basic bitch humans who exist to die.

Character arks are for weebs.

The theory is abadon is a glass cannon able to easily cut down weaker foes quickly but not enough stamina to rock with the big boys hence why he's a leader but not a champion

Thanks for telling us about Abaddon who is a terrible antagonist. Abaddon is cool but he is just a tryhard wannabe Big Bad villain who in has ridiculous plot armor and a pawn for chaos who he doesn’t even do anything else but just talks trash and who thinks for himself that he’s cooler than anyone else. If I were a very powerful demigod of all four of the chaos gods. My fathers who are both Khorne, Tzeenrch, Nurgle and Slaanesh’s Demigod son who is kind of like the Antichrist. I will challenge abaddon to a dual for the role title as the warmaster of chaos that after I defeat him; I will have him be in a lowest rank while I have Kharn the Betrayer, Ahriman, Lucius the Eternal and Fabius Bile as my own four horsemen of the apocalypse as my own lieutenants and advisors to command my chaos army with the greater daemons that are An'ggrath the Unbound, Doombreed, Ka'Bandha, Skarbrand, Kairos Fateweaver, Ghargatuloth, Zarakynel, The Masque, Scabeiathrax, and Ku'Gath who would be my bodyguards while Abaddon would be at the frontlines to die but as my bitchy lieutenant for someone to fight with and to get to me. I will also keep abaddon’s demon sword named Drach'nyen as my personal sword that will be more powerful with all of the chaos gods infinite power.

With all the primarchs now I think it has to be a primarch. Magnus would be the obvious answer if not for being Tzeentch’s bitch. I think it has to be an undivided and not that C Lorgar. I think Peter Turbo is the only good choice. He’d be vastly superior to Abaddon for sure. I do like Sevatar though.

At this point I think Sigismund was so honorable that he fell on his own sword instead of fighting in such an easy matchup.

But this mad Abaddon withstood the terrors of the Chaos Gods, and even had the madness to laugh at the pitiful fear of Elephas. Elephas who is not at such a supreme level and has no idea what Abaddon went through and what energies Abaddon is exposed to.
There in the Immaterium you are locked in the space of your own battle suit, cables and power lines from where there is no oxygen, and behind you is the eye of chaos and the constant psychic waves of the gods frying your brain

Abaddon exposed to these fry of the gods who want to buy his soul while the trick is to keep the beginning with which you were born, namely your human essence, but ten times more powerful from your experience with the forces of Chaos. But it was here that Lord Nemroth failed because he sold himself and if only to not lose to Tytas he sold himself, made a deal with the gods, begged them to transform him. Which is a win at the same time that you've earned their favor to transform you into a Demon Prince, but from others side is a loss because you lose the most precious thing, your very soul and a kind of universal beginning born as you are, you abandon it and become a spirit of the Immaterium forever subject to Chaos with no right to leave it. It is indeed a force, but not an offer.
While Abaddon possesses the powers of chaos, the ultimate magics of chaos, but at the same time he has also retained his soul. He is free to do whatever he wants and go wherever he wants. And he lives to defeat the emperor, sit on his throne, conquer the imperium and close the portals of chaos forever to rid the universe of the gods. I would do that too. Because it's not an offer to be a slave to the gods forever.
By the way, by heir I mean a worthy heir by force. Not an heir to the throne. Because the two, Abaddon vs. the Emperor, fought in the last of Abaddon's 11 Black Crusades against the Imperium. There, Abaddon, on his way to Earth, stopped by one of the main planetary strongholds of the Empire. Conquers it, an unprecedented breakthrough in the Imperium's defenses. His previous journeys had not been so successful in reaching this planet which is the fortification before the Earth itself. Conquers this major planet and sacrifices its entire population to the gods of chaos, burning several million people. He then proceeds to Earth and almost defeats the Imperium arriving at the Vatican gates inside the Emperor's chamber where the two fight.
That is, because it was actually in this battle that Abaddon defeated the Emperor, sending him disfigured and comatose. This battle has been going back on thousands of years. Since then, the Imperatora disappears and becomes a legend. And no one knows if this image is real or a legend invented by the Vatican monks to preserve the fighting spirit of the brotherhood.
So for that, I say that as an heir by force, he is clear. Once he's defeated him once. But I meant the throne, because it is clear that they are almost equal in strength, who exactly is stronger, despite the victory of Abaddon, it is not quite clear, because he defeated him by a little. In another battle, the Emperor can be defeated. The question is whether Abaddon will be a worthy contender and eventual heir to the throne. Because it's obviously strong enough. But strength is not the only quality required for a person to sit on the Imperial Throne. However, the Emperor has managed to protect the Earth from all the horrors of the Galaxy throughout the entire existence of humanity. It is not certain that Abaddon will be able to do this and be as good a leader and ruler as the Emperor himself, his father. And the Emperor is precisely the leader who managed to protect his race through all the thousands and thousands and thousands of years of terrorist cosmic existence against all possible galactic and otherworldly enemies in the face of Chaos. This, apart from power, is the other great challenge for a good leader.

So yes, Abaddon's is an AMAZINGLY GREAT CHARACTER!

The main antagonist of the 40k setting is Horus. He was defeated during the climax, and most of the setting is a depressing epilogue.

When demon primarchs exists no simple marine should have any kind of topspot... its retarded.

I can’t stand Abbadon he runs from battle and fails time and time again and yet he is still favoured by all four chaos gods despite the fact that Khorn despises cowardice…. The only conclusion I can come to is that more fans of the 40k universe don’t want to see chaos win like in fantasy

As someone who doesn't like elves and does like chaos, Abaddon getting humiliated by Eldrad is one of the best things ever.

to be fair about the chief comment, master chief has armor lock built into his armor. For balance reasons you can only use one equipment at a time, but I would imagine that chief himself has (for story reasons) typically more fire power than that. (also keys found him and literally had to shutdown his armor lock so theres that. Could have even just been a saftey that engaged after he reached terminal velocity.) I'm not a huge halo nerd. My brother is and my memory is too good for my own good.

With the Lion returning, I really hope Perturabo returns and usurps Abaddon as the Warmaster of Chaos in a way that shows how pathetic Armless truly is.

Archaon for 40k warmaster

Abbadon is a lot like Ronin from the original Guardians of the galaxy, he’s meant to be an ultra badass but he’s nothing compared to his boss Thanos.

Abaddon is a little over-hatted. To his credit he had the Universe against him. He had to unite all the traitor Primarchs to his cause. This includes ass eaters like Demon Fulgrim and AIDS brain Angron. He also has grown the black legion to the point where it’s 10x larger than the word bearers. Cadia taking so long to fall isn’t a testament to a Addons failure it’s a testament to The Imperial Guards Iron balls for lasting that long. Abaddon also got rid of the black stone Fortress which rather than harnessing the warp was nullifying it. Abaddon also killed the emperor’s champion. Sigismund even though old as hell, is still sigismund. If you put a primaris marine against Sigismund, that primaris marine isn’t lasting a second. Sigismund was blessed by the emperor and his iron clad balls held the imperial together since the loyalist Primarchs dipped. He also has the strongest Greater Daemon as a sword. Wearing the Talon of Horus to bolster. He also killed the clone of Horus who still is a Primarchs clone. Not to mention his many crusades have been a major pain to the Imperium. His alliance with Angron and Vashtorr is also leading to a possible encounter with the lion. I believe in time he will be more powerful but we all need to remember that Abaddon is a space marine who’s gained enough power to rival the very Primarchs.

My theory is that failbaddon was chosen to lead the legions of chaos by the big four so they don't repeat the mistake they made with archaon. Just to keep a perpetual war going that they don't want to actually win as the conflict feeds the big four.

As a newbie to 40K lore, I thought Abaddon was terrifying. But now I can't help but laugh at his incompetence! That starscream reference did him in!

Damn & he was my first ever miniature that I have ever bought. & This was a recent purchase!!

My idea for the new warmaster of chaos: Epimetheus. He was one of the original grey knight grand masters. Spoiler warning, In "Pandorax", he gets captured by Abbaddon, has his gene seed from Emperor removed so he can be corrupted, then has a blank grafted onto to his back for years to torture him. His eventual fate is unknown. My idea is that the blank is eventually taken off and he quickly falls to chaos as his psychic power rushes back in in a wave of pure joy that follows his torture. He proceeds to kill Abby (who then finally becomes a demon prince) with his enourmous chaos enhanced psychic might and becomes the new chaos warmaster, starting out with good intentions but ultimately ending up the puppet of the warp due to his trauma from the years of blank torture. He recognises blanks as one of the gretest threats to chaos and his first campaign as warmaster is a devastating crusade to try and snuff out the sisters of silence before they can grow back into the powerful order they once were.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Abaddon is a say don't show character. And that's why he sucks so badly. Without his gear he's nothing. People talk him up but that's all he is, talk.

Theory: Abaddon sucks because the chaos gods want him to be, up until the right moment. Khorn weakens him physically, Tzeench alters reality against him, Nurgle perpetuates his failures and Slaneesh torments his mind with a constant reminder of them.
All in all, he IS but a pawn of chaos.
