I have a 1993 quarter that was struck through emery paper…on both sides. Crazy thing is I just found it in circulation and it looks like it is straight from the mint. The grains of the emery paper are crisp and there is one hairline scratch on Washington’s neck but otherwise clean up to 30x mag (using a Leica A60). There are some deformations caused by the strike-through hitting larger grains on the emery paper/cloth, a few on Washington’s head/neck giving an almost pockmarked look and a few on the eagle (including one larger grain and one medium grain on the eagle’s wing closest to America.

I love my missing clad collection. Never priced it. Probably won't. One of my favorites came to me in change- ALREADY CLEANED (so leave it), since it was already worked over, I did a little bit myself, and the now shiney mocha background contrasting the greyer high spots, that color changes in the light is cool.
I don't clean the others at all.
