Why everyone should get Layla • Genshin character review!

I personally love it when they make shielders that offer a bit more than shielding. Yea Zhongli is great if you only want a shield. But he ends up being a dps loss because that's all he provides for the team. Right now I've been using Layla with my C0R1 Clorinde, and been loving it. (Since Layla C4 can boost Normal attacks, which Clorinde wants) My go to has been Kirara for a while just because Quicken comps.

Another great video, I enjoy watching them all, funny because I just decided to build my Layla recently so this inspired me even further

I use Layla as a defensive character in Hyperbloom teams, her constat cryo off field (E/Q) makes enemies with annoying mechanics stay freeze and easy targets, i prefer her over Zhongli in this specific team.

Also you should try Instructor set, sure you will lose a little bit of Sheild, but its still a good sheild and well played she can buff EM.

Layla was released while I was struggling through my honours thesis. I've also had lifelong sleep issues. I was like she is literally me 😴⭐

She already c6 full build. i love her more than other 5 star

I placed her in hyperbloom team with Nahida + Yelan + Kuki and it’s glorious!!!

I got extremely lucky while being unlucky on this banner. I did 8 ten pulls and lost my 50/50 so no Yae Miko but I got 8 Laylas (one multi without her and one with double Layla)

I love her, she is really cool and her kit is great.i like to play with HoD sword and cryo cup with Shenhe to have a defensive unit who can deal nice dmg too in mono cryo =D She still have an HP circlet and her usual set =3

while she is a very strong shielder, I'd pick Diona over her 9 out of 10 times. As Diona has not only shields, but also heals and an EM buff. Even if Diona's shields are only about half as strong, it's not like we need more tan what she can give.
Layla's 3 advantages over Diona are:
- longer shield duration
- stronger shield
- albeit only by a small amount, higher total shield uptime, as Layla can technically have 100%, while Diona requires Sacrificial bow for that.

That said, if I had any good pyro DPS other than my oldtriple crowned Diluc, I'd probably build her as my 3rd shielder, after having Zhongli and Diona both built properly already, as an alternative for the abyss.

She is 2nd best shielder! I use her in my Hyperbloom team and that is my main team (Nahida, XQ, Layla and Kuki) so she prevent interruptions and she have help me much when i fight against bosses. My Layla have Dockhand sword i think r2

Yeah... Who is melting in those teams already? Cause if you have a Pyro on fielder and Layla as sole Cryo in your team like in the gameplay you showed, she most likely be the one melting... Which doesn't sound great. As you say yourself even built for dmg it's negligeable...

Your video could hardly do a better job at making me not want to play Layla gameplay wise...
She's a shielder with few equipment options, eh dmg, mediocre utility and has virtually no good place to be played in...

We definitely a shielder set that buffs the team. This would help a lot already...

I love Layla but since I accidently got Baizhu I wonder what build do you recommend for him also. I feel like he is also the case where hybrid build is not good option? So same build as you suggested for Layla I think?

I got C4 layla today and am using her in my neuvilette team. Shield, cryo application and damage boost.

Got her when i was pulling for Scara. Will use her for Neuvi since i dont have my guaranteed Zhongli yet ( lost my Scara to Dehya )

The only thing that makes me not build her is xingqiu. Hes the next level of broken, 50% damage reduction, small heals, good damage, amazing application, pretty much infinite uptime, stagger and the hydro element, unless you have furina in your team, or someone who is quite a risk to play (like hu tao or arle) then he will be enough sustain while letting you do so much

I don't build Layla because her materials are a pain (IMO) to get. Kinda? Or maybe I'm just lazy to build another shielder.

Layla is part in so many of my teams. Even Zhongli is hardly a match for her because, though his shield is stronger, he doesn't apply elements to set up reactions - unlike Layla.
It's fun to have her shield and burst up, throw Amber's bunny and suck it up with every enemy around using Jeans E skill. If mobs still survive the gigantic melt-explosion, Jean throws everybody before you for Diluc to send his Phoenix who sweeps the remains clear.

And Layla's shield design also lowkey confirms the "sky of Tevat is fake" rumor.

I have been building Diona as the shielder for my Navia team but you might have made me rethink this and to try and build Layla instead!

Fully built for HP on Tenacity her shield rivals Zhongli's. I seriously dont get why the community sleeps on her so much.

As a Layla main i use fovonius sword for ER and mililith artifacts but full HP,she us like an alchimation of zhongli shield and ganyu burst.

as a relatively new player, after getting scara, furazan, and layla in a lucky ten pull on his banner and trying his test run, she really is good with him. Scara gets a 20% crit rate buff from cryo using his skill, which allows more crit damage focused artifacts in conjunction with is passive, and the shield helps protect scara given how squishy he is

I have been trying to get atleast her c1 since the start of this banner, still did not get it, and also got a 5 star lol, atleast i guaranted for furina

I like her design really much, and though it's not viable, I like to use the Narrizenkrues sword either pneuma or ousia cause it looks aesthetically pleasing. 😅

I got Layla for free last year (I can't remember what event it was). I was looking for another shielder at the time too since I only had Noelle and Layla has been a great fit for my teams.

I built my Layla as a DPS. She is using a Jade Cutter. CR: 77 CD: 200

She does pretty good cryo damage

Love my Layla! I even C6 triple crowned her, and her ATK is still only 1177 🤣 but her shield is unbreakable against anything but bosses! I found the Fleuve Cendre Ferryman a good match for her, weapon wise. Funny that you got her on Yae Miko's banner, as my main team currently is Layla - Yae Miko - Mono - Navia, works very nicely!
