I own an i20 , 2017 model for the last 6 years and looking to upgrade to a 6 Seater vehicle. My requirement is , good mileage, smooth drive and a Hyundai like feel. Does xl6 suit my requirements?

A couple of additional points, probably you might have covered in the individual reviews:
1. Ertiga has a soft suspension with 185/65 R15 profile tyres. The width does not offer you adequate grip in inclines or high-speeds. XL6 has a revised and stiffer suspension setup with 195/60 R16 tyres providing for a better grip overall. From a safety perspective this is important as the 'safe speed' in both cars will be different, with the XL6 'safe speed' probably about 15-20 kmph over Ertiga.
2. In terms of value-for-money, nothing beats the Ertiga VXI AT. One big issue with Maruti-Suzuki cars is the lack of a manual 6 gear transmission. For example, on a Venue diesel with 6-speed gearbox, you can cruise at 100 kmph at around 1800 rpm. At that rpm, in Maruti cars you would be cruising at 70/75 kmph only. 100 kmph is around 2800 or so rpm. But the AT offers a 6-speed Torque-Converter (TC) transmission. TC transmissions are inherently very reliable. The on road price of Ertiga VXI AT is about 13.5 lakh, while the starting price of the base XL6 manual by itself is like 14+ lakh. To have a big comfortable 7 seater, roof mounted AC blowers, great seats, touch screen infotainment and a reliable, comfortable automatic transmission with great fuel efficiency, paddle shifters at 13.5 lakh on-road is an unbeatable package in my opinion. Get a reverse camera in after-market and you are good to go. The headlights are halogen in the Ertiga though and you will have to keep that in mind.

My XL6 vehicle had multiple issues - OC volve failed after 10000 Kms ran...i was in trichy with maruti service dealer, they couldnt find out , finally i escalated to Maruti to fix it urgently, it was just 1 year old car that time...after that i have break noise issue, I went to bangalore dealer whom i purchased from, they couldnt figure out where the noise coming from , fixed on trial and error method, so far it is fine - i am afraid what else would break within 2 yrs warranty period - i guess Maruti XL6 QC is not doing good job , so better to get Ertiga

6 months back we decided to buy a car. At first we were looking for SUV's. Unfortunately we could not find any for our reasonable budget. Also found out that many companies are cheating consumers with their dummy base models. It was interesting to find some are only giving two speakers for 13lakh(ex-showroom price) car. At last unwillingly we decided to buy an MPV. Buying an MPV like XL6 was a choice. After many discussions we bought an XL6 alpha manual.

Let me give an ownership review and would be happy if someone finds its useful .
The comfort of the car is simply awesome. Suspension are smooth enough to make you happy. It is easy to handle. Although it is having good length, the width of car is less compared some SUV's, you can easily take them through narrow roads. Coming to build quality, we can actually feel the build quality of the car.

There are many opinions regarding the size of tyre provided by maruti. In my opinion the R15 is good. When you increase the tyre size the body roll might come to play. Another thing to remind you all is that it is a family car, engine is refined for normal drives. You won't be getting as much power figures compared to SUV's.
