Is Fume Knight The Best Boss in Dark Souls 2?

You can increase the difficulty with one of the armor sets (i forget which one) but it sends Fume Knight into his second phase when you enter

fume knight honestly outdoes every single boss in ER by a long margin, i will always prefer DS2’s slower approach than ER’s obnoxiously lightning fast unavoidable combos and AOE spam.

Lol I guess I’m missing something because I thought Fume Knight was one of the absolute worst solely because he has too much fucking health. Even if you’ve got his attacks down it still takes a fucking eternity to kill him because he only allows a hit or two in between each attack, and if you’re a magic user? Sorry, no fun for you

Sir Alonne was also one of the worst because of his boss run back. It’s not a boss fight, it’s a fight with a bunch of annoying minions that ends with a slightly bigger minion

I heavily disliked the DLCs in DS2 altogether

Except for only two bosses which is tbe 3 npc boss and the two tigers in the snow. I hate them both, but the other bosses of all the dlcs is top notch...alot better then the main game

Sir alonne fucked me up like 10 times with my hex build i had to use melee without any magic it was more of a testament of managing stamina and timing the rolls on his fast attacks.

more difficult: Fume Knight (i love how sometimes he mixed his left and right sword to caught the player's guard including me lol)
more enjoyable: Sir Alonne (the OST is so good)
coolest: Ivory King

"Fair" is the last word to describe fume knight 😅 Yet, he is one of the coolest I agree.

Fought Fume Knight for the first time the other day. Kept hearing people say he was the toughest fight in the game beforehand. After slaying him on my first attempt with little difficulty, I must say that he didn’t live up to the hype as he was very eaay to read and dodge and overall didn’t provide anything unexpected.

100% agree with you. It was refreshing to have a good fight cause I kinda felt like I ran through the whole game until I got to him.

Dark souls 2 has some of my favourite dlcs in any game at all really, minus frigid outskirts

Fume Knight is incredible, maybe just slightly better than Darklurker.
I struggled with him at first, but that's because I still didn't understand how ADP/AGL works. I think most people who don't like DS2 don't understand this stat, and it's vital to being good at the game. From made a mistake including it because they just assumed that players would take the time to learn about it instead of just wanting more of DS1.

Fume would be my favorite if Sir Alonne wasn't in the same DLC. The music and arena give me goosebumps even now.

I had to fight the fume knight in only phase 2 to learn only one move set

I love Elana and Sinh. Especially Elana at higher NGs she becomes more intelligent and the whole boss rewards patience, free camera, perfect dodges most of the time and awareness all the way. Sinh has a complete moveset, looks nice, fair battle and amazing OST.

The most complex mechanically boss in this game (yeah i know, it's not very impressive considering quality of 95% ds2 bosses, but only Fume can be worthy compared to great bosses from other games) so yes, easily the best ds2 boss. And hitboxes argument against Fume is stupid since every bosses in ds2 have bad hitboxes.

I would say Sir Alonne is my favorite. Fume Knight is my very close second favorite.
