Fascinating how, except for Yandex and Sberbank, they are all petroleum, natural gas, and mining companies! It's surprising that we don't see any manufacturing or high-tech (other than Yandex).

What has surprised me? Well in one year much of what is stated here about the top companies in Russia is irrelevant. Russian economy used to be more or less the same scale and size as Italy. Now, there isnt much left. How does one measure the output of companies that goes straight into the pockets of the Russian Mafia, ie Putin and his gang. This is so sad. The Russian government needs to start funding domestic manufacturing of electronics. You can't just sell all your raw minerals to other nations who sell it back to you for more. Russia should have its own version of Apple etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gazprom will be sold to BP and all its executives murdered and their bodies found in Thailand. By then the gas will be sold for free. Win win for all.
