Stay to the end to see the new hire, they’ve worked really hard to get this job!!!
ОтветитьNice work
Ответитьi am now sold on just buying the sm57 now. thank you sir.
ОтветитьWould it be useful to use the sm57 with a cloud lifter? I run in it through my UA Volt 2 and for guitar and stuff its great but I talk to my friends through discord a lot and other games and they keep telling me i cut out every few words.
ОтветитьI came here to hear about technical stuff, and at the end I heard a beautiful piece of art. The singer's voice goes straight to the heart 🩷
Ответитьwow, I wonder if this tune was inspired by Make It Til Monday, by The Verve?? take a listen
ОтветитьSome please explain me what is Sm57 LCE, LC and others.
And country of origin is China.
Is this a real sm57?
What speces should I look before I get one.
Help me.
lol bro your hair is like the little lettuce looking stuff they put next to fancy food 😂😂😂 I can't stop looking at!!!
I'm bouta order the sm57 tho thx
Such an amazing vid, thank you for putting this out. It's made it so much easier to buy a few of these for myself.
ОтветитьI'm stunned and delighted, this couldn't have come at a better time, she and you were wonderful.😅
ОтветитьOr my bloody valentine loveless
ОтветитьDo a jim ford Harlem County video
ОтветитьOMG love it!
ОтветитьWatching this video made me think how good an unobtrusive the sm57 looks on camera.
Ответить"That's the whole ad read." ...goes on to sell their mics for the rest of the video. :) Great video and rundown of the mic though.
ОтветитьThe only mic you need period!
ОтветитьThanks for the video, nice job. I scanned through the comments and didn’t see the question though it has probably been asked. I’m just starting to play with recording and mixing, will be doing vocals, acoustic and electric guitar. Things I see say I should have a condenser mic for acoustic and vocals. I’m sure you have experience with both. Thoughts?
Ответитьfor the bass, if you dont have two laptops available, im pretty sure you could just turn off the monitoring for the mic and eliminate the feedback, no? that being said, go DI
Ответитьwonderfull and amazing! great job, thanks a lot for sharing this experience for sm57, i joust bought it because of your videos!
greetings from Argentina!
Rooty the robocam
ОтветитьExcellent job! Thank you! And fun too!
Ответитьshe has the most generic 2020 voice. also just sang the melody the guitar was already playing... sorry gotta be real
ОтветитьWhat a lovely song in the second part of the video ❤
ОтветитьAgreed. One mic all purpose.
ОтветитьThat was very helpful in my pursuit of mic choices as well as motivation as I enter the production stage of my life, in hearing how wonderful mixing sounds and I'll have to try out 2 guitar mics now. B/c I sing, I'm glad I saw this before picking up an interface with only 2 inputs. Would u recommend the Scarlett? I have a few weeks before I might get the MS7B for vocals. After hearing this, I'm not sure I need to, however should I go for it if I can manage to? Thanks for the content. I was told the KSM8 may be the way to go, given I have an untreated room that I only see myself changing in minimal ways. Do you agree with that if I'm in an untreated bedroom with carpet?
ОтветитьBK all day.
ОтветитьHistorically, the most common mic placement for live electric guitar has been a 57.. cord wrapped one time through and around the amp handle.. hanging down in from of the grill cloth with the mic head off center of the cone .. the cord on top of the amp doubles as way to make sure you spill at least one beer per show.. dark stage, in a hurry, set the bottle on the cord... turn around and it's gone.. behind the amp.. if you are lucky.. get a whiff of an original 60's - 70's fender.. stale smoke and old beer.. mmmm...
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks man! May I ask you some suggestion to use the SM57 for vocals in a band? It needs a preamp, or maybe is better using the beta version SM57a that has an hotter ouput? Please let me know and thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьI use the Granelli Labs/Shure angled 57 on snare and always love it on that.
Maybe I should give it a go on other instruments and vocals too.
I once used a 546 unidyne and that sucked on vocals 😂
i don't know why i expected something way cheaper, but this is still very good.
ОтветитьHow loud was the fender amp when you recorded it? Is it possible to record in an apartment withou neighbours not killing you?
Ответитьi have the monoprice clone of this which is 25 bucks and its good
ОтветитьWhat popfilter do you recommand?
ОтветитьJust wanted to say thanks.
After going mantel 🧠looking👀 for the right mic, I was ready to invest into something that at this point would be unnecessary. But then I found your channel and the sm57.
I then began to learn how to scale things back and just have fun. Thanks for the good content.
If I only had one microphone it would be the SE Electronics 4400a
ОтветитьI don't know if it's true or folklore, but the Sure57 it the US President official mic. I mentioned that to a sound teck and he said that he wasn't surprised because it works well in freezing weather. Does this ring a bell to anyone? or just made up stuff?
ОтветитьMake a video how you mixed the vocals!!!
ОтветитьSolid information! Thanks for putting this video together. It has helped me a bunch in making some choices. 👍
ОтветитьWhat preamps did you use? Did I miss that part? Sounded great!
Ответитьi don’t know if it was just me but i really liked the unmixed version of the acoustic and the cover towards the end
ОтветитьI absolutely love the SM57
ОтветитьGreat video, I'm an "old - school-er", and long ago, an SM57 was the only mic I could afford to have several of. These mics are bullet proof, and can truly handle any application if you take the time to optimize its placement. Back in the eighties, an engineer told me, that while exotic, and expensive mics do offer nuances for different application, if you don't have the proper environment to maximize their intended use, i.e., acoustically treated vocal booth, etc., that $2,500.00 mic may be more trouble than it's worth. SO thank you for helping the younger crowd realize that the magic is in the music, not necessarily the hardware. By the way, that track you recorded was great.
ОтветитьPeople wearing MUZZLES and DRUMMING? Now THAT'S something new. W. T. F. Why are you even remotely promoting this crap?
ОтветитьWell, the SM57 is a good mic, particularly a good instrument mic, for live performance where you can mic close. You see, it has low sensitivity, which means that it works well in close proximity to loud sources. It is not great at distance or with quieter sound sources because you then have to use a lot of gain & that will also boost the mics self noise & line noise. You can partially overcome this issue by using a phantom powered FetHead or similar preamp. The ability to plug the FetHead directly into the mic base is a plus as it places this pre, right at the mic where there is minimal line noise, so you tend to get a reasonably clean sound from that. However, there are just simply better mics for that and other jobs. For example a pair of Lewitt LCT 140 Air are a great solution for capturing the acoustics of a room, say a choir in a stone cathedral for example. There are just different mics for different purposes, but I would agree that the Sure SM 57&58 are great inexpensive & robust mics for live gigging. Probably not the best choice for studio work though.
ОтветитьMy dude just made a Shure SM57 sound like a Neuman lmao
ОтветитьWhat's your signal chain for the SM57 voiceovers.
ОтветитьI finally got one today based on your recommendation. I love it
ОтветитьBRO I LOVE HOZIER WTF
Ответитьthey're so poopy. No other word to describe them
Ответить
