people are immensely messed up in head , we all lack peace to seek someone who can unfold these subconscious threads
this was highly informative i am currently in my masters for psych but planning on going to medical school i couldnt be more motivted after listening to your advice. For me is planning ahead but focusing on the current now i just started my masters and will plan for more learning this year in the medical field with so much also happening at once i will give myself a good 6 months of just taking a moment to my family and studying the mcat and then pursue medical school
ОтветитьHes a fav of mine!!!! So personable, animated and lively.
ОтветитьThe stereotype with psychiatrists is that they are cooky…. I can’t believe he didn’t say that
ОтветитьI love that you are from the South…. I am from NC living in LA, CA and it is sooo different. Generally, I think Southerner’s are polite, thoughtful, and interested in other people.
ОтветитьLoved it. He's an INFJ, like me (typed him during this video). I'm thinking of pursuing psychiatry, too
ОтветитьCan you please make a video with a Psychiatrist who has at least 10 years in the field? It would be very helpful.
ОтветитьThe fact that he did this video with you in his first residency year, where a lot of your confidence takes hit, more power to him, and best of luck man!
ОтветитьYeah, the OR sounds miserable.
ОтветитьMy favorite “73 question” interview. What a beautiful soul! Thank you for advocacy for mental health!
ОтветитьHindi sikha riya hai
ОтветитьPsychiatry is an evil pseudoscience that havent cured 1 person. . Unlike real illnesses, Mood disorders only require one thing: a psychiatrist. They push dangerous drugs on the public that create more problems than theybsolve, as a result, mental illness & homelessness skyrocketed since psychiatric drugs have been invented.
ОтветитьIt is amazing how this guy is kind, he is so sweet to listen. He has calming and uplifting voice at same time ❤️
He will be a great psychiatrist
he looks the main guy from the good doctor

God I’m such a sensitive premed. I had a doctor scold me for something dumb at her practice while shadowing and I wanted to cry 🥲 the MAs over there told me that’s how she was. I wanted to die 😂 I now work at a primary care practice and the doctor is nice but has his moments. I guess I just have to build thicker skin so I don’t end up crying in the OR once the surgeon yells at me 🫣 BTW I identify with so many things Jake said. I got a BA in psychology and my mental health has always been my #1 priority. I love anything related to the brain and the human behavior. Let’s see where life takes me but I definitely see myself pursuing a career in neurology or psychiatry 🤞🏻 and after hearing jake talk about why should someone pursue his specialty wow I can relate so much 🥹 I actually enjoy having the difficult conversations, I’m currently volunteering with CTL and it’s challenging but so rewarding and people do come to me for advice, on top of that I’m good at listening and expressing how I feel, for the most part 😅 I think I have found my specialty, who knows 🥰🥹
ОтветитьOne of the best ones. Definitely motivating, especially talking about being a waiter and "Hey, I thought you were going to medical school". Seems like a great person.
ОтветитьJake Goodman is a good man...Psychiatry here I come,we're all going to make it! YOU'VE GOTTA PROTECT YOURSELF OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PROTECT ANYBODY ELSE ~Jake❣❣❣
ОтветитьDo it with a Oral Maxillofacial please.
ОтветитьHis smile is brighter than my future
ОтветитьGod, I pray I can be an excellent psychiatrist like Jake in the future!
Thank you for this super encouraging interview.
I just burned out here in my clerkship (our 3rd year in medical school) and seeing this gave me strength to get back up and fight again
Go DAWGSS purr
Ответитьhe seems so sweet and personable!
ОтветитьMore time in bed = less stress
Ответитьthis whole video has me crying like okay script!!!!
ОтветитьPsychiatrists haven’t presented scientific evidence to support the existence of any mental ‘diseases. While mainstream physical medicine treats diseases proven to exist with objective evidence and physical tests, psychiatry can only deal with "disorders" that are only based on opinion.
ОтветитьAbsolutely wonderful interview and very informative
Ответить❤
Ответитьthis doctor is so handsome that if I look at him for a while longer I'm afraid I'll fall in love.
ОтветитьAfter this speech ...demolition men from far advanced societies will take over that M H ...party times for Aj and nepal my pals
ОтветитьConjoined tendon bro ffs
ОтветитьWhat do you think the odds are that I'll get into a medical school near where I live? I have a husband and kids and we bought our home already so I don't want to relocate. I live near Portland Oregon and I haven't even started pre-med yet. I'm just weighing my options.
ОтветитьI LOVE that he gave credit to the techs! Tech’s do so much more behind the scenes than most people give them credit for. ❤
ОтветитьTrue
ОтветитьHe is so down to earth wishing him the best!
Ответитьthey all look the same and are rich
Ответитьadmitting ya like kanye didnt age too well. did it lol
ОтветитьDamn this interview is sooo good. Such good questions, and amazing answers. Also, he's basically me wtf, interested in psychiatry, watches schitts creek, likes rap, issues with authority, loves plants... be my friend omg.
ОтветитьHe’s honestly very handsome and sweet 🥰
ОтветитьThis guy right here is the exact reason why Psychiatry is a system that is failing to address people’s (mental/psychological) needs, and he accurately depicts the way American Psychiatry is running, which is based on consumerism rather than a systematic understanding of the human Psyche and its abnormalities. He mentioned the word “business” much more than “mental health”, and that can say so much about the majority of nowadays American Psychiatrists. What the hell is telepsychiatry?! How can you understand the patient’s needs and observe their affect when you’re not in the same room with them, and not analyze every single word and body gesture the patient expresses? It is clear that for this guy, Psychiatry is a get-away path to be a “doctor” and at the same time enjoy this “work-life balance”. For him, Psychiatry is nothing more than superficial symptom alleviation via medication prescription. Therefore, to all the people deciding on whether or not to pursue Psychiatry:
PLEASE DO NOT, when you only want to handle patients’ problems as if you’re working in Walmart.
PLEASE DO NOT, when you’re looking for a career with a relaxing lifestyle, you can go for radiology or dermatology.
PLEASE DO NOT, if you only want to make money, you can do like this guy and open some kind of business, it’s America and it’s possible.
PLEASE DO, if you really want to understand the human brain and are ready to contribute to the body of knowledge that we have over this matter, because Psychiatry addresses the biggest questions of Humanity.
If we don’t even know how the normal brain functions in its totality, then how the hell are we prescribing medications for diseases that we still do not fully understand?
(With all respect to the guy who might also be kind-hearted, but also is the result of a medical educational system that allows this viewpoint to spread, that Psychiatry is an easy peasy job and that you only need to “like mental health” in order to be a good Psychiatrist)
If your 29 and at your parents house?
