ОтветитьThis first time I’ve heard this version and I love this song in many GD versions. Wow.
Ответитьbeen hunting for this song version for a while. thnaks
ОтветитьSometimes the spirits speak and when they do Jerry Garcia is their message!🪷
ОтветитьI have been a Deadhead since about 1972. I only recently realized that they are country music by guys who take acid (except Pigpen) for fans who take acid,
ОтветитьThe Best version of this song. Beautiful
Ответить👍🏻✌🏻🍻
ОтветитьMissing Jerry. Missing KSAN too. I guess I'm just an old fart.
ОтветитьWe need more Jerry on pedal steel!
The studio version of The Wheel always mesmerizes me.
Thanks for this , keep 'em comin'!
✌💀👍⚡
Very unique, pedal steel !!!
ОтветитьBest vocal by Bobby W ever. Nice to hear him singing from his diaphragm for once.
ОтветитьGreat reason to read comments section. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьReason I don't like 'Europe '72' , is because Jerry never played steel on it.
ОтветитьThe ratty mall actually ignore because mine beautifully haunt a a young space. magenta, silent japan
ОтветитьFirst song I listened to when I heard Jerry had passed.
ОтветитьThat's the Dead ! saw them in 72 and missed Jerry playing steel 🎸
ОтветитьNice, nice, nice. Cippolina and Garcia had a real affinity. Stoneground was an interesting Tom Donohue trip. Sal Valentino was the lead vocal; lots of interesting stories to be sure! Saw them a bunch. An old friend was one of the crew. Hope you're still with us Bobby.
ОтветитьI dunno, this is my 3rd or 4th time listening to this and it seems like jerry is playing a different tune than bob is singin...like he's exploring inside his own universe and just chimes in from time to time..
Ответитьwhats the guitar chords for this recording
ОтветитьWhen this popped up on my screen I thought it read Dark Star pedal steel version and my adrenaline shot up!
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьThis captures the essence of this old traditional tune.
ОтветитьThank you very much!!
ОтветитьLovely!✨💖
ОтветитьAlways enjoyed Jerry Garcia's pedal steel style. Killer pedal steel. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьOn fire!!
ОтветитьNice. Piano player ?
ОтветитьPure gold!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this little treasure. Along with tremendous talent, Jerry harbored enough demons that he expired at only 53.
ОтветитьTwangy goodness.
ОтветитьWow, I've played country, 50/60's all my life and never knew this song existed; very nice indeed. I've added this to my collection.
Ответитьmagic
Ответить💙
Ответитьmiszing jerrys harmony
ОтветитьWOW! this is great!
ОтветитьThanks for posting this...it brings back memories. Just thought I’d mention that I am playing Piano on all these songs...and Mario Cipollina bass. In 1970 I was staying in Mill Valley with the original “Stoneground” band, and someone introduced me to John Cipollina and we became very close friends. John, his brother Mario and I later went down to KSAN DJ Richard Gossette’s show when the FM radio station was on Sutter st in San Francisco. We met up with Bob & Jerry and broadcast live from the KSAN radio stations Record library...all very casual. Truly live in the air. I played the old upright piano in the corner. I left Stoneground after the broadcast and returned to England to play on Rod Stewart’s “Every Picture Tells a Story” album...then I went on tour playing bass on “Long John Baldry Blues Band’s” first US tour. It was while I was on that tour that Jerry asked me to play Piano on his first solo album...which I couldn’t because I was on the road. It’s all about timing in this business. Cheers,Pete Sears
ОтветитьWow. The epitome of the high lonesome sound by Jerry.
ОтветитьJimmy Skinner wrote this...
ОтветитьA John Cipollina and Jerry Garcia lover of music thanks you very much for sharing. Glad I'm still around to be able to hear this. Thanks again.
Ответить😍😍😍😎
ОтветитьI love pedal steel Jerry.
ОтветитьSo beautiful. Thank you so much!
Ответитьholy shit. pure win! thank you for posting this.
ОтветитьThis brought me MAJOR CHIILS!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьFrom what was known in east coast trader circle during the 1970s as "The Radio Tape".
Best version ever recorded: definitive version of Dark Hollow.
Haunts forever.
Despite its poor recording quality and radio compression, this session has been withheld from public availability for too long.
This is fucking gold
