I've had two m6's and I never had any trouble other than replacing the clutch and flywheel. I crashed both of them so I'm done 😂 but there are so many cool mods you can do to these. RPI engine cooler, RPI ram air intake, beyern rims, sprint booster, catless headers, x pipe, race exhaust. I got carried away but it really transformed the car and it sounded like a Lambo

This car has had the same known problems for about 18 years. If you haven't figured that out yet, dont buy it. It's cheap to buy but expensive to maintain. If you're not a mechanic or dont have disposable income, STAY TF AWAY. the parts alone can get expensive fast. The name of the game is: preventative maintenance when owning an s85. Im at 97k 😂 in the next year ill probably spend like 10k on parts just to keep that check engine light at bay. Im not trying to scare anybody but i want you to know the truth. Another truth is: if you can afford to have this car dialed in, it is the greatest sedan of all time. The sound this car makes is a drug. If you own this car or have driven it, you know what i mean!

I listened to this video. I cant disagree more. These cars have one of the earliest systems to provide the owner with allot of feedback relative to service. If you warm them up before driving no rod bearing issues. I guess i should be glad that that Doug just regurgitates what he reads from nubes on forums. Keeping the prices down on these. I will always have one of these.

I had the rare opportunity to sit and hang out in one of these, and it actually was one that ran! I even got the rare opportunity to hear it running! What a great sounding engine, when it doesn’t blow up!

The fact BMW thought putting a V10 in a sports saloon would be fine for reliability would find they were completely wrong. In the Uk they’re very rare to find these E60s

42K, and shortly after, had to do Vanos. Sold it and bought a 2009-equipped Manual transmission and blew the engine. I ended up supercharging the engine, and soon later, both throttle actuators went out. Thank
God some fanboy from NY paid me all the money since it was Manual and Supercharged. Shortly after purchasing it Vanos pump went out on him. 😂😂😂😂 having this car is like being in a toxic relationship, two years have gone by and thinking about buying myself a third one.

In terms of cost of ownership, the worst BMW ever produced and it’s not close. Supercar upkeep expenditures for sports car performance.

The fuses graphics in the trunk aren't hard to understand at all since they correspond to the warning graphics you'll get on the dashboard. I don't own one, but have had other E60's, and they're for the most part the same. And you're right, you don't know what you're talking about. I had an e60 for 7 years, the longest I've ever owned a car (@60 years of age), I drove it hard, but nothing broke over the course of 150000 miles. I know e60 m5 owners that didn't have anything break either. They're not fragile at all, except the failures you mention do occur, but not on a majority of cars.

“High performance German sedan” is literally a code word for “this piece of shit will break down catastrophically stay away”. These issues extended to quite a few Bmws of this time period not just the M range.

I was a salesperson for BMW when this car was new. It was a long time ago, but I remember on top of the $105k price, there was a $5500 gas guzzler tax, a $5000 dealer markup, and no test drives. Seriously, you had to overpay, and buy it on reputation alone... no test drives for a car that cost as much as modest condominium in that era. I still love that car though... so much that occasionally I consider buying one now that they're dirt cheap
