I love these one hit games. “One Strike” is an awesome fighting game with this mechanic. Great time burner when you only have a few minutes to play.

Watching this video over two years after I bought the game and put it on the back burner. I started playing it in 2022 and now I am hooked.The game is the epitome of a hidden gem. Akane is an ultra hard rogue-lite in an era where we need entries in the over saturated genre that can stand out. Akane stands tall and is cheap. My favorite line from this review is "Henchmen continually emerge from all directions."

Bought it for 18 cents. Played it for 3 hours straight. Fun. Fast. Brutal. Difficult. Worth it.

The Way of The Dragon or Enter The Dragon 🐉 are my two movies that go tied for my favorite.

The main character only get's killed one time no health bar if the game has health bar yeah if not no

IP man series or if allowed Kill Bill full.

Is Blocking disabled at some point? Not sure if it's a bug.. ? Switch version..

I just got it on the sale for $1.99 then came here to watch the review..so definitely worth it!! When I need a break from Immortal Fenyx Rising or Empire of Sin I can turn this on for a few minutes instead of playing a game with my phone. Perfect!

Watching this 1 ad a half year after I can say the online leaderboard is still missing. Really a massive missed opportunity to an amazing game!

I love Akame so much. I wish there should be more stage levels like you said but oh well. I'm grateful what this game gives regardless.

one year later:

• no online high score leaderboard... (really? this is where the game should essentially be built around)

• the soundtrack on loop does get kind of repetitive, I wish we could pick individual songs from the soundtrack to play. I just put on background music and mute the game music.

• once I get up to the ~300 kill mark, the frame rate drops significantly as enemies flood the screen and I’m pulling off dragon slayer (the ‘mash A button’ one) moves repeatedly. also I keep having this glitch where the boss’ dash lines stay permanently on the screen which really mars being able to stick to the middle of the screen at all as visuals are severely obscured.

all in all, 5/10. I wanted to love this and will stick out trying to get some of those achievements, but the frame rate drop and dash line glitch basically make the game unplayable around the 350 kill mark. bummer. glad I got it for a buck. god, really wanted to love it though.

This game feels like a very good proof of concept for an excellent game. As it is, I feel this is my modern day Donkey Kong.

This game has so much potential! I really hope they try DLC. I would love to learn more about the story. I would also enjoy a campaign with more maps and bosses! It saddens me how short the game is because this could really work as a full game!

Bloodsport was my favorite and still is. It’s cheesy action fun and of course it’s based on “true events” 😉
