excel tells med i can not put '=' in front of COUNTIF because that would make it an formula .... any suggestions?

What if you want to check all cells for multiple duplicates. Say if your pasting different codes in to cell A1 to A1000 but they are all different with a possibility of a few duplicates. So your not wanting to check one cell your wanting to see if any of them are duplicates
