Java 23 - Convert JAR to EXE

thank you. some useful versions for JRE tab, under min and max would be 1.6.0 and 1.7.0, given that jdk7 and jdk6 are installed.

Is it possible to convert the resultant .exe back into .jar? If not, this technique works better than obfuscation because publishing a .jar on the web means your source code can be seen by everyone. Thanks for the tutorial!

My jar runs like a dream, but when I try to create the exe, it doesn't do anything when I try to build it. upon using the version with the commandline, it talks about a nosuchfielerror. it worked fine a week ago, any help?

Thanks for mentioning that the recipient needs to have a JRE installed on their computer.  No other video I saw yet mentioned that.  My computer at work just said there was some sort of java main class error on a program that functioned using netbeans

Can someone help, I have been trying to do this but when I try to start the file up on my other computer to test if it works, but when i start it up it says "A Java Exception has occured." What should I do?

well i run my program and after 10 seconds it restarts for no fucking reason.....The devs apparently know this and have no idea how to fix it....I FEEL SOOO LUCKY

Do you know of a simple way or program to bind two .jar files into one so that it executes both .jars separate programs. Example when i double click on it it launches the .jar file with two programs.

Hi, My jar application uses MySQL database, I converted the app into an exe using Launch4j, when I ran the exe it gave me a connection error.  Can you help. I ran the jar it worked fine but the exe did not. Thanks in advance.

the bad thing is - the computer who opens it - still needs java or has to download it otherwise it doesnt work

My usual java program that I work on all the time does not run under java 8 with update 121 which is the latest. I use Launch4Java with each new compilation and my program has always run before.

but unfortunately i had to format my computer and re install evry thing when i import my project & built it shows some error "Warning: Could not find file C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\MySQL Tools for 5.0\java\lib\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar to copy." i have jar file but still not working. its an error in xml file but cant recognise that.

Nice, but it is still possible to extract the EXE file, so it is not so different of the original JAR. How can I generate a BINARY EXE, instead?

It's not a good tutorial if you had already "Done" something before don't you think?

So it still require the jave runtime. Is there any solution without the runtime. The whole point of converting into an *.exe file is be like any other command-line or window application file.?

Brian. Thanks INCREDIBLY much for making this video. I mean incredibly. I was trying to use 'jsmooth' for converting a jar to an exe, and I searched for online tutorials just to learn how I could do it. I won't comment on my opinion of 'jsmooth', as I don't know how powerful it is. But what I can say is --- I wasn't able to make it work to get my exe file. I can also say that my attempts to use jsmooth resulted in jsmooth modifying the original jar file - every time, which rendered the original jar file useless. But fortunately I always save backups of the originals - just in case. Now..... after watching your video for a few minutes, I downloaded launch4j (as you showed), and 'whammo!'..... instant success. Thumbs on on your video. Thanks once again.
