I can recall in one episode, Mighty Mouse and Oil can Harry got into a shootout in which both used revolvers. I believe that scene, along with others, was edited out.
ОтветитьLeave it to a bunch of Karen’s to ruin a simple cartoon.
ОтветитьI remember this episode controversy because back in 1987 everybody had newspapers, the next day, every newspaper had mighty mouse on the front page of the newspapers, people were losing their minds wanting mighty mouse, to be canceled, and his balloon float could never come back to the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade
ОтветитьMy Dad and I watched Mighty Mouse together on Saturday's I believe it was, early 1950's on a black and white TV a luxury for many back then.
ОтветитьI'm 64 now and grew up watching mighty mouse , gotta say that I couldn't stand him , and another cartoon that I didn't care for was Woody Woodpecker , I thought both cartoons sucked.
Ответить80s kid here. Still have a Mighty Mouse and an Underdog shirt. Great days. Lol😂
ОтветитьMighty 🐁 mouse Janice favorite cartoon
ОтветитьThe only thing I didn't like about Mighty Mouse was when he was beating up cats, which seemed endless. I was a fan of the short-lived animated series, "Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse." That series was created by Bob Kane ("Batman").
ОтветитьWhen I hear it all I can think of is the “High end talent”
ОтветитьI always preferred Super Mouse comics
ОтветитьHe use to come on channel 11!
ОтветитьWhat? Not even a mention of Andy Kaufman's "Here I come to save the day" skit on Saturday Night Live? No review of the Mighty Mouse legacy would be complete without it.
ОтветитьI am 70 and loved Mighty Mouse! I loved his balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving parade!
ОтветитьWhen I was little like 6 years old Mighty Mouse and Richy RIch were my favorite cartoons. Then when I turned 7 I became a massive fan of He-Man Masters of the Universe and forgot all about those old cartoons. Thundercats/Transformers/Battle Bots/Voltron were all I care about from 7-10.
ОтветитьComment 694: My mother had a tattoo of Mighty Mouse on her inner lower arm.
Why?
This was over 30 years ago that she obtained this tattoo.
I see young women with tattoos on their lower inner arm all the time now...and not just in fashion magazines.
It was the only tattoo she had.
She wanted to get a second on on her upper arm of Betty Boop.
Why?

you see how people think they always look for the worse in something because that's how humans are programmed.
ОтветитьTHEY NEEDS TO MAKE A L.A. M.M. MOVIE...
ОтветитьTHEY NEEDS TO MAKE A L.A. M.M. MOVIE...
ОтветитьWell, i remember the themesong a bit different.
"Here i come to wreck your day. etc etc"
You can come up with the rest yourself, it always fits.
Wow i was watching this in the 80's.
ОтветитьLoved Mighty Mouse! Could not stand Heckle and Jeckle.
ОтветитьI can remember see MITY m. .when I was just a kid ..I yes I loved . It . 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
ОтветитьI remember the theme song more than any certain episode from the 1960's.
Ответитьone person Mighty Mouse could not defeat, it was the Orkin Man.
ОтветитьMy brother and I never missed an episode of Mighty Mouse. Early 60's I believe, every afternoon was cartoon time for us.
ОтветитьAre you from Maryland
ОтветитьEven back then, conservatives were canceling things
ОтветитьI miss andy Kaufman
ОтветитьI remember back when Andy Kaufman used that song during his stand-up routine.
ОтветитьHe was almost "Superfly"?
ОтветитьRocky and Bullwinkle and Mighty Mouse, I used to watch these two cartoons back to back.
ОтветитьIt was a preacher who claimed drug use, in the early days christians were persecuted , then the Roman empire took over, and started persecuting.
ОтветитьOnly of Bakshi's, which was hilarious. The late 70's one really sucked bad.
Ответитьloved the mouse
ОтветитьI used to love me some Mighty Mouse.
ОтветитьIf Mighty Mouse Was So Mighty, Then Why Did He Use A Gun To Fight The Cats?????
ОтветитьAs for the original incarnation of Mighty Mouse, I just see it as a parody or rip of Superman that doesn't really stand on its own, it just existed to get views from little kids without much merit. Felix the cat on the other hand I would count as the first animal hero character, at least his capabilities were superhero level in that Goose that Lays the Golden Egg piece.
ОтветитьWell the one in the late 1980s was great not because it was mighty mouse, but because it was the first of the cartoons done in the style of Ren and Stimpy. It was the precursor, the thing that set off an entire genre of subversive parody toons that are somehow more intellectual and broke the pre-established tropes. Basically it was the first shitpost in the superhero genre too. Then we had The Tick and Ripping Friends (and of course Powdered Toast Man as part of Ren and Stimpy), but the thing that set off the movement was Mighty Mouse.
ОтветитьI was a Mighty mouse fan as a kid. I was also a Ralph Bakshi fan and when i saw he rebooted MM I checked it out. There were some really zany episodes, and one I specifically remember was MM talking to a chubby kid sitting in front of a tv who was complaining about being bored, and MM lays into him telling him to go outside and do things instead of sitting in front of the tube. I thought 'Oh he's going to get in trouble for that.'
ОтветитьI've always been a huge Ralph Bakshi fan and a Mighty Mouse fan.
ОтветитьYes, I was a fan of Mighty Mouse.😊
ОтветитьIn the early 60's I was a little boy and mighty mouse was on in Boston back then, I loved that toon. I'd forgotten it. Thank you
ОтветитьRhonda's next target?
ОтветитьIn the 60s they should have used a Mary Jane episode! But flowers!, c'mon!!! The more things change, the more they stay the same.
ОтветитьAlways loathed Mighty Mouse as a child in the early 70’s.
Don’t know if it was just circumstance, bit every episode I saw was a bunch of a-hole mice screwing with some random cat who was minding his own business.
The cat would get sick of their crap and retaliate, then they’d whine and get Mighty Mouse, who would promptly fly in and beat the cats @$$ while the mice played victim.
Kinda’ like US foreign policy…
I loved how off-the-rails-zany the 80s Bakshi reboot was, when I was a teenager. I could swear there was a scene where an evil foe was shouting insanely and you could see a little tab of (acid) paper on his tongue. I didn’t know about the controversy or episode banning, but could that have been part of it? Can someone corroborate my recollection (or lemme know if it’s been addressed further down the thread)?
ОтветитьYeah! 1955! That’s him!
ОтветитьHe will always be our hero
ОтветитьAs a young child in the late 60’s and early 70’s, I thought Mighty Mouse and Mickey Mouse were one and the same. 😂
