That song from the intro is legit one of the best and most soothing things I've ever heard. Is there a longer version of it available somewhere?
ОтветитьImagine taking DMT and running into this guy
ОтветитьIt's funny that I read Hyperion when I was 16 years old.
Ответитьlol most of the warhammer 40k universe is worse than this thing. Especially Chaos faction, read book Nemesis, there’s a specifically diabolical character called , “Spear”. Also the novel “Seventh Retribution” and “Legienstrasse” creature would make this shrike thing sound like Tuesday.
Ответитьnah
ОтветитьI hear spooky synth music on intro to a documentary on a topic I have literally never heard of in my life, I like 👍
ОтветитьI wouldn't call the Shrike "terrifying" by any stretch of imagination compared to noteable other cosmic entities...
ОтветитьI don’t know AM from I Have no mouth but I must scream is terrifying
Ответитьthe Qu are so much more terrifying
Ответить@quinn's U need to make a video of "scorn", u the one to do it! I haven't seen a decent take on it, look into it.
ОтветитьHyperion is definitely in my top 5 sci-fi books.
ОтветитьOne of the best book series I have ever read
ОтветитьThe nature of humanity is that every once in a while we just invent the Christian Hell again
ОтветитьHeh, Laughs in The Flood
ОтветитьI’ve been watching your videos on the Hyperion. And one particular topic has been eating away at me for a few months now. The fact that the AI could sense an additional AI somewhere far off in another galaxy. Is this a topic you could possibly go into more depth with? It doesn’t even have to be about Hyperion. Just the idea of AI‘s sensing other AI‘s in a far off galaxy???
Ответитьthis video is like 7 mins, why cannot you add subtitles?
ОтветитьI prefer the narrative to be read plainly than dynamic, dramatically and semi-theatrically, but this is still a very good video despite that minor criticism.
ОтветитьIf life consumes life then what did the single celled organism all like supposedly come from consume?
ОтветитьApparently i watched this but forgor, must be Silence
ОтветитьYou sound like you have something in your mouth.
Ответить"The Shrike is the most cruel thing in the universe" Third book cover has him hanging out in the same raft as the rest of the cast
ОтветитьHe reckons he's hard does he?
I'd have that shrike twat, outside in the pub car park any day of the week..
🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🥃👊💪💥🤕
wasn't film in works with Bradley Cooper starring/directing?
ОтветитьA question is, is how powerful is he?
ОтветитьThe scariest creature in all of science fiction is Ridley Scott's Alien. Namely, the Xenomorph. Convince me otherwise.
Ответитьbut can he beat goku
ОтветитьHey Quinn. I don't know how far back you check comments, but it was watching this video that got me into reading. From knowing NOTHING about the series, I bought all 4 loved 3 of them (RoE, it's good)! Since then, my reading has expanded; I've read Dune before but I want to read it again as well as the Cantos. Thank you for doing what you do!
ОтветитьBro, people just need to understand the Shrike. All it want's to do is make a nice red themed Christmas tree.
Ответить'Am ' from 'I have no mouth and I must scream' is probably a close second .
ОтветитьI have been reading Hyperion whilst listening to the Elden Ring soundtrack...
ОтветитьFinally a video I can watch without being spoiled
ОтветитьCome on, dont bash the shrike. He just wants a big hug bit noone ever comes bac for seconds!
ОтветитьMaybe beg for like/sub AFTER the content. Annoying asf and immediate pause/back button.
ОтветитьI love these shrike videos and want to see one where you just include full spoilers. Is it ever mentioned what his goals really are? You seem to hint at it without fully spoiling, but maybe it is never revealed. I really have to find more time to read books but I work all the time. I am fascinated by the concept of this thing. I think I see kind of what it is about but don't understand what its endgame is.
ОтветитьI recently re-read the Hyperion and Endymion series and I find the Shrike fascinating not just as a character but as a concept.
ОтветитьMost terrifying??? Nahhh, im more terrified of lucius the eternal
ОтветитьReminds me a little of Nezarec "Final god of pain" from Destiny 2
Ответитьnaah the most frightening creatures are the mu species
ОтветитьImagine the reactions of people who get off on pain encountering the shrike.
ОтветитьA mark of a truly great villain is if you can say about it "We do not know what it wants, or IF it wants."
ОтветитьBegging for likes gets you a dislike.
ОтветитьThat book needs a better cover. It’s hideous
ОтветитьNaaaahhhh thee worst scariest scary thing in science fiction is the halo flood
Ответить"I see you brought the fire"
Ответитьshrike
ОтветитьThe most terrifying creature in science fiction is the Zenomorph alien and don’t forget it….
ОтветитьThe most terrifying creature in SF? Bro, check up on some W40K, Shrike would be a regular mob there
Ответитьnahh this shit is lame as hell
Ответить
