Beautiful blade but you need to work on your sharpening skills. That’s a very dull blade.

Sort of on topic, this video reminded me of a job I had working in a coil shop that made wiring coils for giant electric motors. The type you find in power plants and rock crushing machines. Each coil of wire would be about 2 meters long and weigh about 20 lbs.

Great job, this simply looks beautiful !!! 2 objections, just for tha sake of history: Bronze-age-swords would be forged, and not casted, especially the edge would be folded and hammered many times more than the blade´s stem, so that the edge is nearly as hard as iron at the end... When the iron age arrived, never the less, people opted for iron, whenever they could, cause the edge would be even a bit harder, with much less folding and hammering... Second, the Xiphos is a weapon of the iron age, to my knowledge, simply because there´s nearly no clue of bronze-age swords, and when there´s some clue, it ain´t a Xiphos, but only some similar/rerated greek-sword-shape... So, Xiphi (plural of Xiphos) shouldn´t have been built of bronze, since they were first built well into the iron-age-period. In the iron-age, bronze-age-heros would be depicted carrying/using Xiphi, but those iron-age-artists (e.g. at 700bc) couldn´t know how swords looked at 1200bc...

very cool sword, and great craftsmanship, however, for anyone interested in the true history of these blades...

"Contrary to popular belief, no example of a xiphos made from bronze has ever been found. The several whole or partial xiphe blades found in places such as Olympia, Macedonia and Southern Italy were all made exclusively from iron. Furthermore Xiphos swords only began to appear centuries after typical Bronze Age weapons - such as the Naue II - had transitioned from bronze to iron. In reality the Bronze Age sword during the Bronze Age was a completely different weapon, and Xiphe were not developed until after the end of the Bronze Age circa 1200 BCE. Researchers think the misidentification of Bronze Age ornaments has created the modern-day myth that the xiphe were ever cast in bronze."

Bronze casting a blade is one thing, bronze casting an entire sword with guard, handle and pommel is on a whole new level though.

Since these metals get harder by cold forging: Are we sure that ancient examples were only casted? Casting a blank and hardening the blade (or at least the edges) by cold forming would bring much greater results wouldn't it?

was the peining of the edges of the blade to harden the cutting edge?

The nice thing about bronze weapons like these was that, when they broke, they were much easier to repair than iron weapons because they could just be melted down and then recast. One of the main reasons bronze weapons continued to overlap into the iron age for such a long time.
