That's awesome and something I've been looking myself to create - similar build.
However, can you please share how did you share/passthrough hardware-to-VM?
I cannot see it here nor on your website and is crucial for me in order to create similar VMs, especially GPU and Network Ports (sensors like temperature sensor would also be appreciated).

Could run proxmox off of a USB and reclaim that 1TB m.2 SSD. I know that's probably not as stable as you'd like but just running Proxmox off of that drive is a terrible waste not to mention that its not as if you have redundancy set up with this build. As long as you're living dangerously you might as well reclaim nearly a full TB of very fast storage for VMs in ZFS, then you could bump the other SSD as NAS.

Hello everyone, I'm a noob and I just bought a Protectli Vault, and I would love to set it up the way Techno Tim is talking about; however, would anyone happen to have a step-by-step guide on how to do this?

Cool device for the year 2020 but it's CPU is outdated and the biggest argument against this device in my opinion. Just to put it into perspective. A i5-13600T brings 14 cores to the table and it runs cool while sipping 35w without turbo. This device wont hold up if one of those Plex clients needs transcoding. It will hit its poor cpu with 100% load and it will become unusable. I used a M11SDV-4C-LN4F server with a passively cooled 45W epic 4 core CPU and encountered exactly those issues. So hold onto your money and wait for the next generation. This thing wont make you happy.

All I want is protectli to either have two intel 10gb sfp+ ports or a pci-e x8 slot (sure optional fan as 10gb nics run hot) and I would be thrilled. That's why I've never bought one. Maybe I should get one for the *arr stack tho.... Cool video, thanks.

I wish the Windows 10 display passthrough issue would be solved on alder lake+ CPU, I want to upgrade my server to alder lake i3 12100 and passthrough the UHD 730 to a Windows VM and serve as HTPC, I want to take advantage of Windows as a HTPC system but don't want to use it as my hypervisor, kinda disappointed it's not possible; people have success with iGPU up until intel 10th gen. I hope one day, you or another person will be able to solve this. Finger crossed..

Yeah..well, given the supply situation of the Protecli devices in Europe - I Think I'm gonna do a hard pass here =) It's not difficult to use a purpose build mini PC to enrich your network with services that can leverage the two nics, but I have yet to see such a device that is actually worth it's extreme asking price. But I appreciate the effort. Nicely done as well
