there is a correction, 10 guage is the largest shotgun for hunting but not home defense. there are legal 8,4,2, and 1 guage shotguns. typically only to 4 guage is commercially available.

I have both the keltec ksg and the mossberg 590 a1 and they are both useful in home defense and hunting although heavy to carry.

I live in a mobile home after lot of training in close quarters I keep my shotgun for home defense loaded with alternating bird shot and #4 buck shot bird shot at 30 feet is devastating and still over the 21 feet .

This is a super duper content learned a lot about shotguns planning to buy one. Can civilians own and posses AA12 Shotgun? Is it available on gun stores? I do appreciate the mossberg short barrel.

Where i go i want to make sure i can drop a 400 lb. black bear. Mossberg 590 and .45 S & W are all i ever use.

Benelli has done a great job of marketing. The facts are that the places where a home defense situation is most likely to occur IS NOT the same areas where a benneli shotgun is most likely to be owned. I am willing to bet that a mossberg or stevens shotgun have stopped more bad guys than those safe Queen benneli’s. Tac-tards spend big $$ on these benneli’s and other Gucci guns , and will never be in a situation to use them.

another benefit of pump actions for home defense... the sound ALONE of that pump wil let ALL intruders know you mean business before they even see you

IMO Benelli will AALLLWAAYYYSS be the best semi-auto... also IMO Remington 870 and the Mossberg 590 have been battling for the best pump-action for decades...both are Legendary for reliability,but based on safety lever alone i would go with the Mossberg EVERY time for pump-action.

The best shotgun for home defense is a short pump action with a handle on the pump, at least that's what i think is the easiest to handle indoors as home defense

I use Federal Shorty 1 3/4" #4 buck in my Mossberg 590S Shockwave, holds 9+1 shells. Equipped with a green laser and flashlight. Tried the pistol grip, hated it.

No.6 or smaller is sufficient... will remove any appendage or head nearly completely at 10-15 feel... further depending on barrel length... without penetrating an indoor wall through and through...a single projectile or buckshot is ridiculous in a family setting.. don't be a 😸use your head
