Yngwie is not on the these lists ever with rolling stone because he was openly critical of liberalism and that is a big no no with them. There is absolutely no other reason a Grammy nominated guitar player who was the third and last true giant and game changer in rock guitar behind Jimi and Eddie is forever excluded.
ОтветитьWhen you look at a lot of old Rolling Stone record reviews, it's impossible to value anything they write. It might be blind partisanship, it might be payola, it might be trying to second-guess their readership, but it ain't worth worth taking seriously.
Ответитьwhile agree with the sentiment here, i just wanted to say: i saw neil young in 2012 with black keys and foo fighters, and neil ripped some amazing solos. he was more fun and full of energy at 67 than the other two groups. he was stomping around stage and having the time of his life. amazing show.
ОтветитьHave you ever heard of Marty Willson-Piper? He's vastly underrated. He's a master of multiple guitars and sounds and has one of the greatest Rickenbacker collections today.
ОтветитьYou had me at Yngwie Malmsteen & Neal Schon. I couldn't bring myself to watch the rest of this video. The Rolling Stone list is garbage!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHank Marvin should be on list.
Ответитьrolling stone its a joke
ОтветитьRolling Stone & most of the 70's music press also slammed Led Zeppelin while they were on the rise. So much for credibility. During the late 70's & early 80's they also slammed progressive rock groups like Yes & King Crimson who gave us some of our greatest artists & music.
ОтветитьRick you need to start a new digital magazine with clickable articles maybe a play on rolling stone like Stones Rolling! 🤨😃👍
ОтветитьHow is Al Di Meola not on there?!
ОтветитьRolling Stone has been a joke for 40 years. No Glen Campbell? These people are on drugs.
ОтветитьWhy is anybody still paying attention to an irrelevant publication like them?
ОтветитьIt would appear to be obvious that Rolling Stones objective with their 250 GGOAT is to get.........A REACTION . That's pretty much it. Validity was never an issue.
ОтветитьPrince saw his placement & used his Rocking Roll Hall Fame performance of My Guitar Gently Weeps to remind everyone of his greatness and relevance.
ОтветитьRolling Stones & GQ both are Irrelevant ! They both fell off .
ОтветитьTRUE… none of those guys are on there, and more importantly - I’m not on there either. WTF man??
Ответитьrolling stone is a left wing propaganda mag, I never read that thing anymore
ОтветитьCHUCK LOEB WAS AN AWESOME GUITAR PLAYER
ОтветитьAs an European I say: it's an American list do not take it serious, don't feel offended🙂
ОтветитьJason Backer
✨🎸✨🤘✨🔥✨
James Dean Bradfield? John Martyn? No? Then a no go.
ОтветитьI fucking hate Rolling Stone
ОтветитьGeorge Benson spent his peak years making terrible ballads, he deserves to be off the list
ОтветитьA lot of these artists you haven't really listened to
ОтветитьRick! You're yelling, and i'm only two feet from you!!!
ОтветитьHaha. Rick going off! Loved every minute! Rolling Stone lost their relevance years ago. Run by idiots. Throw that list in the trash!
ОтветитьPaco de Lucia.
ОтветитьNO ZAKK WYLDE
ОтветитьI only got through the first 50 & no Tommy Emanuel.
ОтветитьAs usual, Rick's right. The Rolling Stone mag today is an embarrassment to music. Any of the following could have beaten some of the talentless mediocrities on their list - Joe Pass, Ralph Towner, Alan Holdsworth, Terje Rypdal, Howard Roberts, Johnny Smith, George Barnes, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dan Adler, John Abercrombie, Peter Bernstein, Danny Gatton, Kenny Burrell.
ОтветитьNo George Benson???!!!! Oh, lord
ОтветитьThe only thing more R3T@RDED than Rolling Stone “Top ____” lists is getting butt hurt over Rolling Stone “Top ____” lists
Ответить1. Roy Clark
2. Glen Campbell
3. Brian Setzer
4. Terry Kath
5. Stephen Stills
Just who I enjoy listening to I put Roy above Glen because Roy could play anything while telling a joke or a story no matter what he's playing.
They gave Pinkerton the “worst album of the year”
ОтветитьDave Marsh on the R&B band Bloodstone's sound - "a very good funk-soul group using the Hendrix-derived [guitar] licks of Charles Love and Willis Draffen . . ." This is probably a hunch . . . but Love and Draffen aren't on the list either, are they? 😃
ОтветитьMany of my fellow Family fans would put Charlie Whitney on the list, but because no one at Rolling Stone today has never heard of Family, Charlie won't be on it either. Maybe Jethro Tull's Martin Barre?
ОтветитьIs Michael Bloomfield on the list at least?
ОтветитьI've never seen Rick Beato so aggressive ever.
ОтветитьIts obviously about the fucking vibe right
ОтветитьRolling Stone is NOT a music magazine…..obviously
ОтветитьWhat’s Rolling Stone know about music anyway?
ОтветитьRelax Bro, take it with a grain of salt. It's just a teeny bopper list. Can't expect more from Rollin Stone , it's a rag.
ОтветитьAndy summers is 250th... Seems a bit odd
ОтветитьIs Zappa on that list? If not, it's trash. ;)
ОтветитьMost of the time these magazine greatest guitarists lists are a popularity contests and not skill based.
ОтветитьRick, you and I are kindred spirits- I’ve had that same video of George Benson saved on my phone as well :) I have that entire DVD downloaded that it’s from, it’s amazing stuff.
ОтветитьAll Rolling Stones Best lists seem to have been compiled by people who have never listened to popular music.
ОтветитьObbiously a ridiculous list... I don't see many others, like John Petrucci, Steve Howe, while Hackett is 216 😂😂😂 Clown magazine as always
Ответить
