I wanted to pick up the iPad Pro for on the road real estate shoots and edits but I need stacking. The lack of being able to auto stack by capture time and create HDR is a deal breaker 👎

Good morning Brian, I very recently came across your Channel with great interest.

Being a member of a Photography Club in Canada, there is some size restrictions when submitting images to the Cub for competition. Indeed Images must be in JPEG (or jpg) format, should not exceed 8MB and maximum dimensions are 3840 x 2160 i.e. you cannot exceed 3840 pixels horizontally and 2160 pixels vertically.

Travelling several months per year and moving around significantly, I now only carry an iPad Pro 12.9 inch (6th generation) with its powerful M2 processor and only use the new Lightroom cloud-based service that works across desktop, mobile and web. The results are quite impressive. I do not use PS.

But, it is not possible for me to resize and export images with my iPad using specifically the 3840 X 2160 constraints imposed by my Club in Canada. Cloud-based Lightroom seems to only allow to customize/resize on either the long side or the short side on the desktop but not both at the same time. On the iPad, you can only customize on the long side.

So, unless I am mistaken and if this cannot be resolved from within Lightroom, could you please provide any guidance as to what can be done or suggestion to work around this issue or, suggest any Image Resizing app/tool that I could use for submitting compliant images for competition to my Club. I would not be surprised to hear that I am not the only one facing this dilemma.

Thank you.

Yves

Enjoy your content and look forward to each video. That said, forgive me if this is a dumb question but did I understand in the video that LR (cloud version) has applications if your using a Macbook that would not be on the IPad Pro. So, if I understand I could use the new denoise feature on the Macbook and not have to use LR classic. I’m currently on the LR cloud with 1TB and would purchase a Macbook if I could use what my current subscription. Hope this was clear and I look forward to your reply.
Thank you.

Thanks, Brian.

One of the more frustrating (and curious) gaps in mobile is lack of intersect function in masking. Very powerful to mask within a mask, frustrating in its absence.

I would also add mobile’s lack of color calibration and mask curves to this list. More inclined to accept their absence on a smartphone, not on a tablet. 🧐

Thanks ..it reconfirms to me that editing in LR on my ipad 12.9 pro would be frustrating .

Hi Brian, can I fix converging lines of buildings in Lightroom on my iPad Pro? I have gone into ‘Geometry’ but can’t see how to ‘square up’ the front of a building.
Thanks Chris, Adelaide, Australia

Yeah, this is a subject that has been a bit of a sore point with me over last 4-5 years. While I do have a Mac (desktop Mac Mini M2), much of my work entails me being on the road, thus I bring along one of my trusty iPad Pros for editing. IMHO, the iPad is the greatest device to ever come out of Cupertino, a device that in recent years has shown the possibility of becoming a world-class editing tool, only to be crippled by it’s creators. I also in part fault Adobe for not following through on their promise to create a mobile version of Lightroom that would be equal to that of ‘Classic’. With the silicon-powered pads, why Adobe is slow-walking LR’s upgrades to match all the tools and tricks that we love and desire in ‘Classic’, is beyond me. The only reason that I have stayed with Adobe this long is the eco-system and the linking of all my devices, seamlessly. If ON1, Cap1, Topaz, etc.… were to create a similar, reliable setup that Adobe currently enjoys, I’d be gone in a flash.

Hi Brian, I am like you hoping that Adobe will add some of those features you mentioned in this latest video. An issue I currently have is that the Sony A6700 is not recognized formate for Denoise with Lightroom (Desktop) unless I am missing something. Now Denoise with Lightroom Classic works with A6700. No issues with either program when the image is from my Sony A7RV. One feature I miss when using my iPad Pro (M2) is not having the access to plugins. With Lightroom Desktop I can go through Photoshop. Maybe in the future we will see useful plugins come to the iPad that will work with Lightroom Mobile. On another note I am looking forward to your Lightroom Everywhere. Cheers!
