Aimpoint Micro H-2 | Compact Red-Dot Sight For Rifle Hunting

I was excited to put the 2 moa Vortex on my bolt gun, super quick etc. At dusk in the NC woods the sight became useless whereas the 2-7x32 allowed for pre sunset and all the way to 30 minutes after sunset hunting , Did I miss something while using the red dot?

at3 is good scope to I have it on my single shot 308

I checked the prices , way over priced , pretty bad when a gun sight costs more than the gun it's going on. Not for me. I remember when they were reasonably priced.

I think the non magnification, and small ocular eye piece is the biggest mental hurdle to get past. I believe having it back as close to the Eye as possible, " WITHOUT", getting kissed by the scope , might help one , get over the field of view issue. It would be best Overall , to take rifle to a shop and let them put a demo on your rifle.

Show me a 50, 100 and 200yrd shot group without the use of a magnifier.

Aimpoint is tested by military, waterproof and can take more recoil than the shooter. Swedish made, no junk.

I used a Romeo5 on my IWI sbr7 last fall to harvest a deer paced just under 100 yards...perfect outcome. Problem is low light conditions, and out West you're handicapping yourself if you carry anything with range capabilities...257 wthby, 270's, 30 calibers etc. 300 yards is about it without magnification in my opinion so with my eyes I can just wave goodbye to the 6x elk across the saddle. JMO.

Why you prefer to mount your sight at the back of your rail? I got my Aimpoint and just want to make sure what is the best position to mount it.
