This short film captures the rich memories of the Staithes fishing community from the 1950s to the present day. Directed by Helena Fox and produced by the team at Digital Drama as part of a National Lottery Heritage Funded project, the film highlights the enduring resilience and traditions of the local fishing industry.
This project was a collaboration between the Staithes Museum and Heritage Trust, Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre, and local schools. The film is part of a larger initiative, including an audio trail inspired by oral histories, workshops, and a final performance event.
Special thanks to National Lottery and Digitaldrama for making this project possible, and to the vibrant community of Staithes for sharing their stories.
