Look at evolution. Look at how many solutions it has come up with to the same problems.
Now, what is the problem that life has solved or is trying to solve?
Find that, and we can start looking for where (or when) that problem exists. And what else the universe has selected for to try to solve it.
It may not be life.

Understanding biogenesis is key to reaching reasonable assumptions about life in the universe. Without that crucial knowledge, all can engage in is wild speculation that goes nowhere.

Forget about looking on other planets - earth has life but as far as we know it's only started here once. If this planet is so perfect for life, why isn't it originating from scratch over and over?

I would lose my shit if we found evidence of microbial life. That alone would mean abiogenesis is possible elsewhere and the whole cosmos could be populated. I'm always excited about missions to Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn's moons and any giant telescope we put in orbit.

Everywhere my friend.
Happen to know they have taken the genetics from humans and the bodies recovered from "IFO" and made a hybrid.

Due to the vast distances that space travellers would have to over come to make connection viable it makes more sense that aliens who are visiting us now, from a distance mind you, must be time travelling from our future. Or, moving through a space continuum.

Mankind is so messed up that aliens would not be intelligent if they were to initiate contact or respond to our extended hand. Oppositely we may be opening Pandora’s box by looking for a chat somewhere out there. Superior intelligence may mean superior aggression. Best to just leave things be until we can clean up our act.

What is the trigger of primitive life? What is the trigger of complex life that could evolve into intelligent life? It could be that the second question is astronomically rare. Perhaps we are the only ones in our galaxy.

What do mean, "Where are the aliens ?" What an asinine question. Oh...OK, you're right. You are positioned at the very pinnacle of creation with all the rest of us. Us of course being the dazzling blindingly brilliant and infallible human species that have done such a wondrous job of taking care of our environment and our selves, not to mention all the other species on this planet which does not nor has it ever belonged to us in any fashion ! So where are the aliens ? The ones that are not observing us as part of an experiment to show how not to conduct civilized existence, are staying as far away as possible so as not to be contaminated. You will find them there.

Always asking myself, why sci-fi authors considered aliens as a hostile creatures, on the other hand, many true scientists believed to establish safe connection between our civilization and others far beyond... Absolutely intriguing one. Life existing on other planets is a major issue among scientific community to the present days.

I think it’s interesting that I never see anyone discussing the unlikely coincidence that two different intelligent life forms would develop technologies that allow detection/exploration at the same time. Humans have only had the ability to communicate with radio waves for about 100 years. 100 years is nothing on a cosmic timescale. If the development of an alien civilization that’s close enough for us to communicate with was only a few hundred years behind us we would never know.

Open .. and write in reverse.. moc.ylfyeht.. Et tells us Mars was thrown out of it's Goldilocks orbit in 195,960BC when the 3rd inhabited Planet in our Solar System, Milona was destroyed in a local war. Tens of Millions of humans died on both Planets. This et race has completed a thousands years mission here.. they claim common ancestry with many here and get here in a millionth of a second, over 500 years light year distance,

we are still in the infant stages of the universe . if a 100 yr man the universe would be just 5 days old ( 14b of 100t years ). as more 3rd and 4th gen stars are formed , life will likely become much more common throughout the universe

If a civilization is 1000 light years away and they started transmitting radio signals at the exact same moment we did, we still have about 900 years until our signals reach each other. That’s what a light year means. The distances involved in this search are so vast, it’s almost unfathomable.
