How to FIX PS4 Unrecognized DISC that won't start! (4 Steps and More!)

All I needed to do was clean the disk very gently and thoroughly indirect started working

Mine is like makings a 2 second sound then it quit then it do it again

I tried everything and it still didn't work. Then I just waited a few minutes and now it worked again... no idea what was going on with my PS4 (slim). she was probably just old. thank you anyway with your help! <3

I bought a PSP for pro from GameStop 2 months ago and I bought my first game on disc yesterday, Grand theft Auto v... and of course it won't read it and recognizable disc error and I bought a DVD Blu-ray movie and it won't play that either ...but it will play every ratty dirty scratched old DVD I own... The only thing is I can't get this PSP 4 pro to go into safe mode like you're showing me and I've read many other tutorials is there a trick or do I have a broken system? Do I need a new DVD drive? I am a PC woman I know nothing about consoles lol any advice would be great

I just cleaned the disc and restarted my ps4

Its 2023 and none of these options worked so i replaced the problem disc with a different game which the ps4 read then i took it out and put the problem disc back in and "BAM" it worked

I put after shave on it than I wiped it with covers and than I put it I'm and it said insert disc when it is already in so I pressed ⭕️ and it said unrecognised disc when it is completely clean without smudges and cracks

Mine still doesnt want to read a disc I've did all of this, mine does make some noise and acts like it tries to eject the disc or makes that sound but then it pops up and says unrecognized disc

Bro thank you for making this video . I was freaking out ! U saved the day like super man . Cod mW2 prestige 10 , level rite at 515 and corrupt data message repeatedly . Wld not load from disk . Rebuilt system as recommend by the steps just as u said . Boom money . I have fiber . 20 sec later and about 15 for full reinstall. Thank you sir !

My PS4 ejects the game real easily but when I try and put a disk in I have to push the CD in manually when the disk is in the CD spins then stops spinning it don't load up the game because the fact it spins and stops spinning in seconds

I've tried everything but I had to put in a disc that works first then take it out and put in the disc and it worked thanks for all the suggestions though

If all the steps don’t work, and putting it on its side don’t work, and turning it upside down is a fail, what you want to do is open your window and give it a good toss outside and hope a car runs it over smh 😤😤🤬😭😭

Tapping and turning it on its side didn’t work. All my dvds are brand new, no scratches I almost never watch dvds lol. Secretary works but other dvds dont. We just had a huge wifi outage hence wanting to watch dvds. I think I just need a new ps4

Just wanted to reiterate JellO’s comment from a year ago. If these tips from the video don’t work, and if the tip about turning the ps4 on it’s side doesn’t work either, try tapping the top of the ps4 when you put the disc in. As the video talks about at the end it might be an issue with the rollers inside, I think tapping the console gets them moving or something. Can’t say for sure, but it’s the only thing that consistently worked for me so far.

I don't play much and don't know much about my ps4 but my rdr2 randomly stopped working about a year ago and doesn't have a scratch on it, I never was able to figure out what the issue was but love that game and the safe mode update suddenly made it work like new! (Yes i updated it many times, as the system would always force me to, but it still didnt work) don't know what was different this time, but Thank you!

what if you have a 2rb external hard drive as my ps4 has a 500gb internal memory

Turn it on it side old school and put the disk in. Tada! Leaving the ps4 in rest mode for lengthy periods melts some of the thermal paste ans misplaces the tracking mech. Putting it on it's side allows it to realign and work. You will have to do this everytime until it gets hot and moves back then uou may be able to place it horizontal again, or at that point you may have to replace the drive.
