Initial Builds, APM, and More | Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Forever (FAF)

Bloody hell. You're a good player and you're 1000 rated. And there are 2400 rated players. I'm scared to step foot into this game! I will get smoked. :(

I know this is and older post, but for the love of FAF are they ever going to address the build range issue on the com? Seems like a dumb glitch.

In FAF, how do you get the mass points and geothermals to show when zoomed out?? All mind disappear and it's so annoying!

For the display rating something like max(value;0) would work with value the current displayed thing.

I think the APM point is the key point here: it's not about clicking faster, it's about knowing what to do. If you're being bombarded, pouring more resources and time into a defensive fire base is a waste compared to getting the enemy to divert their resources and time into defending other things. Counter-attacks, raids, drops, and snipes all work well to distract, deflect or defeat an enemy that's over-powering you in one place.

As someone that played alot of FA, and has only recently come over to FAF, I have found eco to be hardest.
Obviously I have got my arse kicked, it has taught me alot.
However even while playing for map control, having as many engineers reclaiming as possible, getting radar up, scouting ect I am struggling in the early game with eco.
To fair, I don't get to the late game, ha ha.

I feel like I get worse every game...

It is always better to assist 1 mex up to t2 rather than get 2 seperate mexes up to t2 unassisted. Your investment will start paying itself back faster.

I really don't think apm is that big of a deal here. Considering that I am disabled and play with 1 hand but I recently broke 1000 rating. Also I only play aeon so the is aurora micro to consider

Thanks for this man me and my dad have picked this up, hes 69 and plays almost every day. I try and pass these nuggets of knowledge along but he is old school and wants to figure it out for himself and i do not begrudge him that. Plus, he is better than me lol
