#CASIO AE-1500WH Digital Watch Hands on Review - The Casio that is literally a sight for poor eyes!!

I just picked up my Casio AE-1500WH today... I collect budget watches and have 28 watches in my collection... This is by far my favorite watch... I love the big display

I've got a few watches, all more expensive than this Casio, I literally wear this every day but Saturday , the one evening I get to go out. A couple things, firstly, if it's not obvious, I love the watch, it does everything I need it to do, I have my celly for everything else, I don't feel the need for digital redundancy in that form. That out of the way, it does get caught on things due to its thickness, but it's tough enough to handle it, however it can get annoying. I don't like the fakey screws on the front plate, but that's just being nit picky, imo. For the price(I think I paid $25, in all, delivered) I find it impossible to complain about it. It's actually more difficult to scratch the crystal/glass than you'd think, or maybe I've been lucky, but in general, the side will take the hit due to how they stick out further than the display. I will buy another, if anything happens to this one, so far, not a single issue, but imagining how much damage my more costly wrist pieces have avoided because I've worn this, it's probably paid for itself 10x over by now.

One more thing, when I stay out somewhere, I love the large face and clear digits, it makes a nice makeshift bedstand alarm clock, easy glance to see the time, no need to pick it up, and pull it to your face. It's a cheap watch, don't be mistaken, but it does what it's made to do spectacularly. Excellent value, imo.

I got the data bank and world timer. My next watch is this one. Great watch especially with people who have vision issues.

I have this watch. only problem of this watch is... plastic watch crystal. it got scratched after 3 days...

Thanks for doing an alarm volume test. So many people don't. I bought a square G-shock 5610U from the same retailer as you (Argos), twice, once at £99.99 and again at a sale price of £79.99 and they were both returned as the alarm level was the same on both. I saw no point in having a 5 alarm watch that only a young bat could hear in a quiet room, yet the much cheaper Casio's all work so well and as I don't drive over my watch in a car or am SAS soldier I stayed with Casio and saved some money.

I agree that the Illuminator and 10 year battery decals are unnecessary and don't add to the aesthetics of the watch so I took a spot of Brasso polish and a soft cloth and rubbed them off. It only takes a couple of minutes and the polish leaves a very nice finish.

By the way, the lumps on the inside of the strap marry up with the same pattern on the inside of the atrap retainer band and they are there to hold it in place so that it doesn't move. A very nice feature once you know it's there.

Does it scratch and shock resistant. How to check its real or fake

I bought a watch that has a dark display. So far it works flawlessly and is great for everyday use.
However, I think that digital watches with bright displays are much more practical in situations where the light is reduced because the content on the display is more visible, so you don't have to use the watch's light.
No matter which variant you choose, you won't have a problem, because the price/quality ratio is, in my opinion, optimal.

I have the sand-coloured one. The display has a subtle pale orange over the date, seconds and ten-second graph. It looks more interesting than the other variants imo. Good review of a cracking watch!

It's a great watch in terms of legibility and ergonomics. 10 year battery and 100 meters of water resistance. It's a discount G-Shock.

The big numbers make all the difference. Have worn the Kakhi model about 2 years. No reason to replace it.

I have the dark green one. Nice watch, attractive design, useful features, I wear it everyday and I love it.

That ghosting is minimal compared to MOST digital watches, almost all of which have some of this depending on the severity of the angle. Has anyone ever seen an LCD watch that has NO ghosting at any angle? I have this watch and there is almost no ghosting except when viewed from an almost unviewable angle that no one would think of doing as you can barely see the surface of the watch. Sorry, for the aside. Good review of a watch that is affordable and destined to become quite a popular model.

After some time, I discarded It for unnecesarily bulky, despiste the fact that I LOVE It. Since I dont need so many alarms or dual time, I ended up using a modded F105 with an all black steel case and a black nilon strap.

Ps: IMHO, ghosting at so closed angles is totally negligible. Its not a real problem

I wear the green and khaki one for almost 3 years. They are absolutely brilliant beater watches.
As good as my 5610 but 1/4 of the price and, for my older eyes, way way more readable

I have a 8½" wrist and it fits great at the 4th to last hole. I wish you could turn off the button beeps though.

I got this, good for frequent travellers... catching two place time zone. Visible, Durable, Reliable and Practical. Also good active sports lifestyle.

It’s only £24.90 when the battery dies just buy another one it won’t brake the bank super cheap

so, has the band disintegrated yet? have you used it daily? that is something no reviewer talks about. these cheap casio are disposable watches. you use them 8 months, then the band disintegrate and the lcd develops a dark spot in the center. cheaper to buy another one that to replace the band.

I have this watch. Do you know if it records the split times while in stopwatch mode? If so, how would I recall the splits?

Just bought one. In the jewellers window the display stood out for me, it was the clearest of all the other Casio watches on display.. Another, as a soldier I love the rugged look & uncluttered face, a quick glance and I have all the info I need.. Another all reviews fail to mention, unlike all the G-Shocks I’ve used setting the time was intuitive, unlike a degree in horology that G Shicks need to program it.. At this price it’s unbeatable, 10/10… an afterthought, my arms/wrists are quite thick & muscular, this fits perfectly
