I hate Henry VIII because he was a terrible man, king, father and husband. But he loved Charles very much. Charles Brandon adored him. Their friendship is one of the most beautiful of the serie (and in real life, obviously). They were so close. Charles was the only one who found a good part in Henry

People always talk about so many big figures in the era of Henry the 8th, but Charles Brandon is often relegated to a footnote in the history books when I always felt like his relationship with Henry, above all else, was something incredibly special to note. Wives and servants and mentors came and went, yet the person who survived through all the turmoil was Charles Brandon, and this is even including the fact that Charles did mess up too and incurred Henry’s wrath yet Henry still never harmed Charles the way Henry did so readily to so many others. So many people didn’t survive, the fact that Charles Brandon not only survived but also thrived is something that I should think is of historic note. After all, when Charles died, Henry paid for all his funeral expenses, something he certainly did for no one else.

I can’t say to what they may have had in real life but it is clear that Henry and Charles meant a lot to each other, and this bond lasted their entire lives.

Honestly if we really think about it Charles is the survival. I mean compare to his wives this guy was more in danger and could die at any moment anytime. He just surviving but barely at times being on edge of Henry anger. Regardless, he fortunately survive through it all and in the process becoming a brother toward Henry. Their friendship is truly beautiful and something to behold of.
