growing up my family always had the walkway of the living room beteeen the couch and tv I always hated it since people would block and interrupt not intentionally. So when I moved out with roommates, that was a big rule for me, no walkways between the tv and couch.

I would change something else: I would permanently close the door. You can obviously enter the living room through the dining room/kitchen. If you do that, you have a nice wholesome secure nook back at the couch.

Turn the couch 90 degrees so the opening faces towards the terrace. Place the TV on a table at the edge of the carpet, or even better; get a projector screen to roll down in front of the windows!

I'm so glad you can make these absurdly built spaces feel better. I saw the layout for that room and immediately hated it. It is equal parts too open (with the big open wall, big glass doors, and regular door opposite) and not open enough (might as well have just made it a grand dining room and closed off that other door). There is so much about modern architecture that leaves me wondering if the same people who build these spaces ever actually live in them,
