been using the sonar software for a while its S+ for making your mic sound super clean. also very good at canceling background noise. These mics sound very good

I heard that its good to use DT 900mpro x with amp/dac especially on console. But i am going to use it on my pc and i have really good motherboard which is Asus Z790 strix(current latest gen) would i really need an extra amp/dac even on this mobo?

I heed a warning as someone that work in the media industry. This microphone is fairly poor quality for the price. You pay a premium for the branding of Steelseries and the simplicity of connections, and a pretty big premium too. Some affordable studio mics like AudioTechnica 2020 are good enough for professional use at only about 100USD, although it does require an interface. But the audio for an AT2020 is far superior to this and I am sure you can get some sort of DAC with XLR input and USB interface for cheap enough that it would still be cheaper than this, with better audio and you get two devices instead of one throwaway mic.

If you are willing to learn some software Voicemeeter can be used for both gate, EQ and any other effects you may want to play with to make the audio even better. Although I don't think even the ease of access options that Steelseries software gives could make the poor audio quality of the mic I am hearing in this video much better.

Of course this will do for gaming and is far better than a headset microphone in a gaming-headset. It is also fit for smaller kids and people that don't want to spend time figuring out how XLR microphones and DACs work. It isn't horrible but certainly worse than I would like for that price.

better off getting a shure mv7 microphone with the boomstand for 330 dollars instead of paying 369.99

Hello Howdy I have two important questions regarding SteelSeries hardware, maybe you know a Answer
1: Which of the microphones is recommended if you already have the Nova pro Wireless with the associated DAC and want to use them together?
2: Or is that impossible because of the latency mentioned?

Would also love to see a video about the nova pro wireless with DAC and the both Alias Microphones. (the USB is my fav, don’t know why but gives me vibes it will work well.)

The AI noise cancellation was impeccable. I used to always look at steelseries as just another gaming product company, but in the recent year they have been coming out with straight bangers. logitech came out with a mic advertising the same thing and it did nothing. All the beckround noise was picked up the same exact way with no differance. You can look at @Senpai gaming for the review. he review streaming related products for a production stand point.

I want to point out that the software now does not shine with its uniqueness as before. Thanks to sonar and prisms, now every new device loses its signature feature. The question is, why buy this microphone? for the sake of the nameplate steelseries? If you connect any similar condenser microphone and tune through sonar, there will be no difference. The steelseries is everything to me. ended as a brand. I'm upset.

I prefer hardware controls vs software controls but the mics are very cool.

Ah feel like tha Pro should have tha same lights on the front like tha UBS one so that ye can jus look on tha mic instead ah tha solid circle on tha controller. Tha solid circle on tha controller doesnae do as good ah job at giving visual cues as tha trailing lights on the front ah tha mic. Its an IMMEDIATE visual que, where as tha Pro ye have tae look down or over tae yer control box an all it does is like up green, but doesnae tell ye how loud intae tha green, even peaking at lowest in some cases. Ah feel like tha Pro needs ah wee more tweaking outtae tha box then tha USB one. Ah feel like the USB one has great features, good visual queues right away ah whas going on, sounds great also. Sounds comparable tae tha Wave 3 tbh.

Have you or anyone else noticed a huge difference between the Alias and Alias Pro? I know it’s universally said that. XLR mics are better but am I losing THAT much quality if I go with the Alias?

How did you manage to test the alias on a Macbook, if those products have usb C ports, and the Alias Pc end is A port?

Wish reviews like this would go through ACTUAL use... fire up a game, preferrably one with lots of key pressing and aggressive mouse handling and lets hear how it holds up.

as a fan of the hyperx solocast (mostly due to the easy and quiet tap-to-mute sensor, but also the low cost) and a fan of steelseries mice, keyboards and general aesthetic, this seems like a good choice for an upgrade

For that price, you could of gotten a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure + a boom arm. All the money is on the RGB. Heck, even the Beyerdynamic M90 Pro X at similar price is all quality without the fluff.

For the Alias pro, which one did you buy? I saw on amazon that they have a alias pro that says its xlr only for 300 atm which doesn't make sense and then another alias pro that has USBC and XLR connectivity but for 500, Im not sure if the one for 300 comes without any usbc ports or if it does, im so confused

Using it on the desk now but I think it would be good if I could have it closer but then it would be in the way on the desk in front of the keyboard so that boom you have there looks like something I might want to check out. Steelseries have been a favorite product of mine for awhile, both my gaming headsets are steelseries and they feel and sound amazing! I am trying to content creation myself and I am basically sold on this mic lol I already have their keyboard and it is also incredible.

UPDATE: below the clearcast section in sonar there are even more options I didn't show in this video. (noise gate, noise reduction, compressor) as well as how much noise cancelation you want. In this video I tested it at 50%, and it was very good!
