Audi Q4 E-Tron 2 year owner review (2021/2022 model)

What are you thinking for your next one? I'm leaning towards the Polestar 3 or 4. I love driving the Q4 but the software is lacking and customer/dealer support has been shocking for me. I'm not sure VAG are there yet with their EVs compared to the competition.

Thanks for your review. I have a big request: I suspect that my Q4 has a defective battery. Can you tell me what your speedometer showed in terms of maximum theoretical range in the summer when you fully charged the battery to 100% SOC. My Q4 showed a maximum of 486 km = 301 miles, but then suddenly it only showed = 430 km = 267 miles. And that hasn't changed. You would be doing me a big favor in my discussion with Audi, who seriously claim that they cannot read the state of health (SOH) of the battery. Greetings from Germany Bodo

Tony, it's interesting that Audi service isn't just a disgrace in Germany. Service people know about the software errors and, in my firm belief, have received instructions from Ingolstadt to act stupid. With the result that they leave me out in the cold like a stupid boy. With my 81 years of age, they always think they can afford that.

Next car: ID7. This seems to be a great car.
Or how about Fisker Ocean? They have significant problems with their software, even more than VW/Audi, but maybe in two years...

Finally have my software update. I have noticed that when pulling out of a junction, there is a lag on the throttle, which can be quite scary as you assume it’s going to work ! Have you had the same ??

Hi mate, just a quick one. I recently bought q4 40 and noticed that when turning heaters on, the range drops by 20 to 30 miles. What would you suggest around this

What did you do about the tyre noise? I put Michelin cross climates on my new Enyaq and I’m hearing a noise that wasn’t there before. Cheers.

Quick question, do you always charge at public stations ? And when you do, what range do you get ? If I charge at BP Pulse or Ionity,my range goes down drastically to 230 at 100%.

Excellent review. Mine is a 72 plate 40. My experience exactly the same as yours. Love the car. As previously mentioned I have the VR heads up which is amazing. Also the Audi matrix headlights are phenomenal

This is a smashing review. I've just ordered one and honestly, a review from someone who's actually used one for a couple of years, as opposed to some hyperbolic nonsense from someone who's borrowed one for a day, is an absolute breath of fresh air.

Travelled 5,000 miles in my Q4 40 S line since July, its been faultless, had a new shape BMW X1 Diesel (72reg), 7 times in the garage in 5 months and previously a new Range Rover Evoque (21 reg)for 2 years, never a day without a fault 5 pints of oil in 10,000 miles.
Purchased my Q4 with 7 miles on @ £44,199 cash, a good saving, use Octopus Energy around £4 for 200 miles in the summer, just dropped 50 to 60 miles in the winter, but 80% charge is still 197 to 202 miles. In the summer a 100% charge was 357 somehow.
Loads of room in the rear, build quality excellent.

Hello from New England…I ordered a Q4 16 months ago and still no sign. I’m tempted to go with a Volvo. Please tell me not to. I really like your videos and learn a lot from them. Thanks for taking the time to create them.

I have a MY22 and have it for almost 1 year now ~13000km. Mine is a 50 e-tron quattro. So far the car has been solid. Not much bad to say, just nitpicks like i wish for slightly more range, power and faster charging, but the Q4 does everything well.

It also is a rare sight in Canada where i live where every one just goes defaults to a Model Y.

Thank you for your review. I also own the same spec car with a few extras added. Pretty much same experience de as you state.
My car is Sline and cannot take bumps and potholes. Otherwise driving on A roads and Motorway is fantastic.
Winter rage drops down to 240 max.
No other problems so far after 12 months and 4k miles only.
