I’m currently finishing the last file and I agree with everything you said ! It was a day one purchase for me since I had seen the trailer in one of the Nintendo events. The art style is gorgeous! It reminded me of Astral Chain’s. I’m a sucker for murder mysteries and this one did it well. Each case is different with a completely new setting/area of the town.
My main complaint is that I wish the labyrinths were a tad shorter since they become repetitive towards the end. I wish they’d have slow down a bit on the fan service for Shinigami lol. I had the thought as you, Discovering the city during the down time/inbetween cases is great.

I just bought this game as it’s been in my cart for a while and went down $10. I didn’t want to pay the full price but $50 seemed much more reasonable. I personally really like to have games without stressful combat. While some of the games I love to play DO have stressful real-time combat, I don’t find it necessary yo enjoy a game nor do I find it preferable. I love strategy turn based combat and this game seems much more story driven and i look at it more as an interactive book or show I guess. I’m excited honestly. I love games that are a bit different than the norm and the Persona-like art style is a huge part of the draw for me.

I think because there’s a season pass with it the main game is just to get you use to the dynamics of it
So I think it’s still worth investing time in to play

Does it support 5.1 surround?

Never played this genre before and this review peaked my interested. Its exclusive to the Nintendo Switch so might as well pick up the collector's edition.

I just played the game and talk about your surprise reveals and just within the game’s first hour itself. I never expected to see a twist like that.

That's disappointing. I was really hoping for more of a danganranpa game. Like the trials, that one thing would have been the selling point to me.

Just bought the collector's edition for Switch based on another video of yours. I'm excited, though, I think I'll let my girl take the helm on this and I'll enjoy the watch. I'm hoping this will get her to play the Danganronpa series.

I was really surprised when they gave an actual explanation for the color of the blood given that Danganronpa didnt have a reason

This game looks a bit rough. Kinda like it wasn’t made for just the switch. I feel like we will get a ps5 port later on.

Good luck finding a standard copy. Been sold out for many days now at every retailer. Amazon, Best Buy, and Target in the states. They must not have released hardly any standard copies for retailers. Gamestop has it, but I will never pay them $8 shipping being a pro member. I checked all my stores in a hundred-mile radius and not one store has a copy. I was forced to buy a $111 limited edition with 5% off at target. I don't even get that shipped to me till around the 17th of July!!!!! 😭

Ah finally. A review I see some aspects, reasons why I gave up on Danganronpa as a series. So much grabage design choices.

Kodaka himself said that the skills were there so the players could format their own custom difficulties. I highly recommend using...none of them except speed up 2 so you can move faster. I had a lot of fun and the game is actually hard sometimes if you play it your way. I also turned off the mini map for immersion, meaning I memorized the maps for even more immersion. There was no mini map in danganronpa, there was no forced skills in danganronpa. And I think they had it right at the start. I love this game, 10/10 for me. Great review, I appreciate any praise this game receives.
