Assassin's Creed Mirage

Mirage is honestly a 10/10 for me (based on what they were going for), it’s not the “perfect AC game” but it’s a massive step in the right direction. I hated Odyssey and Origins but I enjoyed Valhalla even tho it had no business being labeled as an assassin’s creed game.

Personal Review:
The combat is fun despite its jankyness, the stealth scratches that missing AC itch the way a very well made “DLC” would, and the missions are fun and interesting. I like how you’re locked to sword and dagger so you have development there instead of being bombarded with dozens of weapons you’ll never use. Finally the biggest W in my opinion is the exploration, Baghdad feels like the old style AC maps filled with fun things to do and cool places to go but not overburdened with pointless dialogue and side quests. The contract system actually makes some of the side content interesting cause I want to upgrade my gear and get the cool backflip move.

Huge W for Boobisoft, thought the game looked dogged initially tbh.

Ubisoft just gave up on innovation and settled on using the same technology from 2012

The game is 69.99$ as opposed to the usual 79.99$ or 89.99$ here in canada for me. Im fine with the reduced 10$ price being 69.99$ for Mirage. I actually expected them to try and charge full 79 or 89.99$ here but they didnt. Im having fun with the game and enjoying it. The story isnt grabbing me much the way i wanted it to. But evreything else feels great. Only negative for gameplay id say for me is the combat. Mostly cause its taking me more time to get used to. But will be better with time and practice. Plus the fact you can re map the controls is a huge bonus.

One thing though.. when i saw the overpiced DLC shop it mades me cringe. Yeah its a smaller game like immortals fenyx rising was, so there wont be as much cosmetic stuff. But what little there actually is, is way to overpriced. But ovcourse they are doing it this way cause they know this game wont get much post launch support. So they are raising the dlc prices to make up for that. When i saw it i just groaned and rolled my eyes..🙄😒

What i also cant stand is people overly hating this game for the sake of it. Or a trend. Now ubisoft are gonna see poor sales and reception and claim classic Assassin's creed formula doesn't sell enough so it makes them not wanna do more classic style games. Far too many people jump on the hate wagon and it p*sses me off. The game isnt what we all wanted but its a step forward to a great direction for the series. But haters will unfortunately be the loudest and ubisoft will bend the knee to them instead. I cant stand that sh*t!😒😡

Regarding the dialogue, absolutely! Playing cyberpunk, every Damn interaction is like the character doing a huge soliloquy. Kills the pacing!
Similar with Rdr2 where every action was in slow motion.
It's self indulgent, and it sucks. I don't have several hours every day to play. If I wanted that I'd play simulators. You're just a game, there is no message being delivered here, it's all derivative. Especially when half of the messages are ESG crap

Ac odyssey was the Golden standard for me
