Armed Chinese fighter jet flying dangerously close to American military aircraft

The US Department of Defense says footage from this incident on 23 June 2022 captures a Chinese People's Liberation Army fighter jet in the midst of a "coercive and risky intercept against a lawfully operating US asset in the South China Sea". The PLA jet approached within 12m (40ft) of the American craft, before repeatedly flying above and below the US aircraft and flashing its weapons, according to an account by the Pentagon.
