if they have capacitive touch sensing on the analog sticks, then they probably also have it on the shoulder buttons - which would mean a scroll wheel action would be available. This would help with scrolling through long menus, like in Zelda games. It's also likely the regular buttons would be touch sensitive. Anyone with a Meta Quest can tell you how this works, the software is aware of whether you are touching one or more buttons.

This sums up basically everything I've been predicting since 2019: Release no earlier than march 2025. (My guess was 6 or 10 because 1. Thuresday in march or Mar10 Day) but march 20 would also be quite spot on for a prediction coming from 2019. Personaly i view it as the earliest possible release date. Nothing to moan about it. And again (sorry i just can't let it go): LOL@ all 2024 "predicters" and LOOOOOOOL @ anyone predicting march 2023 as the "latest possible release date, because Nintendo always replace it's systems after 6 years blablabla..." (seriously wich logical thinking person really believed this?)

Also my prediction that it could be ~PS4- PS4 Pro Power in handheldmode seems not to be too outlandish as well as my XboxOneX (changed to XSS in 2021) power in docked mode is quite likley to be not too far off!

I think the control stick thing may be similar to the adaptive trigger in a dual sense controller but in the thumb stick. Perhaps some games have feedback through the control stick such has haptics that if you put a cover on you won’t feel.

Fun fact: Sega Saturn 3D and the Dreamcast have Hall effect sensors. The tech is ancient, it works, it's accurate, is dirt-proof, and it will NEVER drift.

Here is the full context: yes, that CEO from a major third party accessory maker was on their show. No, that person has had zero contact with Nintendo, hence why he was willing to talk so openly. Their information came form their own manufacturing partners in china that help make their accessories. Okay, so that’s fine in that of itself. A rumor, but one that could have some real merit.

The problem really begins when we get to the release date. It turns out he used the word “speculative” during his conversation on that aspect, saying that their partners were speculating on the release date.

This is a very important detail left out of the vandal summary. This context means the release date timing wasn’t even a rumor, just a guess.

I apologize for the confusion. Despite whatever accusations people want to lob my way, my goal is to never deceive and direct the conversation in the title to places that are unintended.
