You can do it in survival.
Proceeds to use cheats to do it in survival.

I saw a video where someone did this and it shot them anyway so I think they added that Easter egg on account of that video

i did try to first disable the cannon then activate the radio until the sunbeam arrives, with the cannon offline, it was literraly in the idle position, deactivated, the sunbeam arrived and got destroyed by an invisible laser so idk, maybe they changed it so you can save it, idk

i wonder what would happen if you disable the cannon while the sunbeam is landing. If you get cured, wait until the countdown is near the end and then disable the cannon, what would happen?

What if... you disable the gun when the timer countdown for the arrival of the sunbeam is already underway?

You save them by staying away from them. The only way to not lose is to not play. This kind of "saving people" happens a lot in games, but rarely predicted by the devs. Implementing little things like this, knowing that almost all players will miss it is what makes your creativity stand out IMO.

Can you also turn off the gun before you get infected?

It would be cool if you could get saved by them if you did this. It wouldn’t ruin the game for new players because only pros who already beat the game would be able to do it anyway. Also, speed runs.

So if i do everything to SAVE the sunbeam it won't come down BUT if i leave the giant death cannon operational to turn them to slag and atoms they can't wait to come down.........makes sense

So crazy that they planned for some one speed running the game before any plot actually gets developed

I remeber when the sunbeam actually wakes up. The gun plays all the sounds and just fires from the downed state.

The fact that you can genuinely save the Sunbeam, even though it's a scenario that would only occur if the player plays the game in an absurd way, is amazing.

If the sunbeam tries to land in normal gameplay then why only then did they say that they couldn't land they don't deserve to be saves

I ignored the radio out of pure ignorance and when I saw videos on yt of the ship being destroyed I had to go back and experience it for myself.
