this is nostalgia bias; and I'm not gonna pretend it's anything but that, but Lost Silver was always my favorite "my game is acting weird" creepypasta. it doesn't rely heavily on shock value or pixel gore to get it's point across, it just throws the player into a weird setting with a grim end.

while I'm at it, I didn't even know that rearranging the unown in the party after HURRY dies took you a down a different path. neat!

One game I've played before was Pokemon Creepy Black, great game on Gameboy and Gameboy advance.

Yo Pokémon horror game idea: it’s like a few years later than the story of red and blue. The Pokémon’s are almost extinct except for a few VERY valuable Pokémon, you play through an apocalyptic world where everyone is hostile and shit.

Why did you ignore Nightmare Version 2? Controls are not so good, but presentation and story are best.

It kind of surprised me that you didn't even mention Pokémon Black. Sure, it has one of the weakest plots of the popular Pokémon Creepypastas... but it's available in ROM Hack format with pretty much every detail being exactly like the story.

The thing about actually trying to scare people with horror is that different people have different sensitivities. It's much easier to try to tell a story than to scare people; however, when I was a child, I would have probably have been scared by some of these fan games, because the original games were full of glitches, and honestly, I could see how some of them could be a bit scary to a small child--glitches that teleport the characters to rooms they can't escape, undocumented Pokemon that make the Pokedex glitch out, glitches that cause Pokemon cries to freeze into demonic sounding screeches. Man, the old games were a little creepy just because of the limitations of technology.

I'd actually prefer full length dark fantasy hacks. I had an idea inspired by Dante's inferno where your custom trainer travels through each circle of hell collecting different types of pokemon, but there's a twist. After you beat Lucifer, he transports you to challenge God for the throne.

Can't believe you didn't mention the granddaddy of all Pokémon creepypastas, Pokémon Creepy Black, which actually has a working Rom hack you can play. Of course, its basically just Pokémon Red and Blue, but you can kill Pokémon and other trainers... still though.

While living in the pokemon world truly would be terrifying people trying to replicate it makes it fall flat nothing could ever replicate the feeling of being a lost child lure from there house walking into the woods getting more and more lost while creatures from the dark twist your young mind into trusting them letting your gaurd down never to return home.... I could also imagine the criminal human activities that go on with all the unattended children and the fact the creeps could use the pokemon that can use hypnosis....Man imagine edp with a hypno or other pokemon that could do some serious damage like a drifbloon

There was this one horror Pokemon fan game that I actually really liked. (I think it was Pokemon: Nightmare Invasion?)
It wasn't a Pokemon game exactly, but it was a game with Pokemon in it. (It wasn't an RPG.) It's mostly in black and white, with only blood being in color. And you shoot Pokemon. But the story was actually decent and it had an ending. It was about you investigating this abandoned town. You discover that this town had a lab that was doing Pokemon experimentation. It was a game about bringing back the dead (fossil Pokemon) and why you shouldn't play god. I might just replay it again just to see if it still holds up. (I could've just liked it because it was a lot better than most horror Pokemon fan games.)
It was a sequel to an okay German game where you play as one of the scientists. (I think. I used Google translate to understand the plot as much as I could.)

I've been wanting to make a horror Pokemon fan game myself. (I guess I kind of did with Distrust, but my intentions weren't to make a horror game, exactly.)
You'd think that it'd write itself. The first generation traumatized an era of kids with one town alone. There are Pokemon with horrifying Pokedex entries. But every time I think of a beginning, I struggle with the middle and end. And I also don't want to fall into this "hyper realistic blood" trap where the story suffers in favor of "spooky" graphics.

Homie doesn't know what destiny bond means XD for those who don't know, destiny bond is an attack that ghost type Pokemon have. Mostly Spiritomb have this attack and when used, it's a terrible fate for the opponent's Pokemon. It's like using curse but this is OP move. Basically if Spiritomb dies and used that attack, the opponent's Pokemon faints along them.

I actually love this concept. Lost Silver was one of the games that came pretty close to living up to such potential, so much so that a part of the FNF commuinity paid homage to it. But then Evertale had to screw with us and make us think it was a scary pokemonlike. :(
