ОтветитьThank you so much for your lessons from Vietnam 🇻🇳. What is the difference between the preposition “ up to” and “ towards”? For example, they’re walking towards my house. They’re walking up to my house. Towards tells you a direction, up to tells you a final result. If they’re walking towards my house, that means I don’t know where they started and finished, but I know they got closer to my home 🏡. If they’re walking up to my house, that means they will reach my house, and they ended it up to my house; in this case I don’t know where they started, but I do know where they finished. That’s my lesson today. Could you please explain to me more about that? Thank you so much for your help. Today is Saturday, 3 September 2022, in my country Vietnam 🇻🇳. I hope you will have a good day 🌝
ОтветитьThank you so much for your lessons from Vietnam 🇻🇳. What is the difference between across and through? Today I will study that. For example, when the light turned green, we walked across the street. When we use across, there usually isn’t anything above you. How about closed spaces like a door or a tunnel? According to the teacher, we use the preposition through; for example, he walks through the door, the train through the tunnel. Across means we start on one side and finish on the opposite side; through means that we enter and exit something. According to the teacher, sometimes we can use both with large, natural spaces, fields, parks and so on. When we can use both two preposition, then cross has more specific meanings than through, both means that you entered a space and exited it, but across also tell you where you exit. That’s my lesson today. Could you please explain to me more about that? Today is Thursday, 1 September 2022, in my country Vietnam 🇻🇳. I hope you will have a lovely day today 👠🥾
ОтветитьThank you so much for your lessons from Vietnam 🇻🇳. Today I will continue to learn the light difference of the prepositions of movement, under and below. For example, the couple walk under the bridge, the couple walk below the bridge. Under is similar to below but not exactly the same. According to the teacher, below that means you stay underneath something , but under that means you pass from one side to another. So if we talking about movement, under is more common. We could say,the couple walk below the bridge, it’s grammatically correct but it’s also strange, like when the couple is walking , the bridge will over their head all the time. Could you please explain to me more about that? Thank you so much for your help and your time as well. Today is Wednesday, 31 August 2022, in our country Vietnam 🇻🇳. I hope you will have a nice day today. 🐚
ОтветитьThank you so much for your lessons from Vietnam 🇻🇳. Today I will learn some confusing prepositions of movement. ALONG means in a straight line parallel to something. For example, The girl is walking along the stream, that man is walking along the street, I am cycling along the road. But instead of using the word along, native English often use the word up and down in conversational English. According to the teacher, they have the same meaning, but they also have a light different meaning. Example, she is walking ALONG the street = she is walking UP the street= she is walking DOWN the street . But the sentence she is walking UP the street that means she is walking towards you. And the sentence, she is walking DOWN the street, that means she is walking away from you. So, imagine when I say good bye to someone, I could say, they are walking down the street ,that means away from me. Could you please explain to me more about that? Thank you so much for your help. Today is Monday , 29 August 2022, in my country Vietnam 🇻🇳. I hope you will have an effective weekday 👩💻👩🏻🏫🧑🏽🎓👩⚕️💂🏼♀️👷♂️👩🏿🚒👨🏻🏫
