Portrait Artist of The Year Season 8 episode 9

I disliked all his paintings until the commission… I suspect he kept winning cause his style was so capable and conservative… his works were the most conservative of the three…. The final work … for me … is the best piece of the entire portrait series…( all years)… I suspect that a hundred years from now, people who visit that town will still be making a special side trip to see that work…. And it has made him into the most sought out portrait painter in Scotland. … (it’s not the traditional “ head only” and the dancing lights make it susceptible to traditionalists’ attacks… but who cares.)
