Wouldn't a solar panel have made more sense than a wind turbine? You should have almost 24 hours of sunlight during the summer. Hopefully by winter you would have acquired enough steel to do a turbine as well

Pro Tip for anyone trying this challenge.
ALWAYS look for a geothermal vent, if there is one, build your entire base around it. Trust me, you're gonna need it. If you can roof in the geothermal vent and make an air duct you can create a central heating system around it, and it works even when you put a geothermal power generator on it.

Keep the animal in a single tile inside the house, away from the food, and only feed it before it's literally starving to death :p

i will save you time yes it is possible i have done it. i would use raiders as food and would keep an eye on wildlife if it would show up at random. i used silver for walls so i could use my wood and metal for other things. then over time with the coms and random trading i was able to buy food and building supplys. it was hard at first but it got easier. i can also tell this guy is not that good at rimworld

You have to eat the cat! I did rich Explorer on an ice sheet and he survived a year and a half (game time) this far! It's easy once you have geyser greenhouses up. I am going to try sea ice next.

To mess up the survival even more,you have to watch a cat die from hypothermia

funny thing if you could build a Iglu you be save, only -1 degree inside as ice and snow are great Isolators and bed rolls and other stuff works much better inside.

This has to be min/max'ed so much to get a good start, it's critical not to mess it up.

You need an arctic entry (an actual thing in real houses). Put two doors with an empty space in between them.
