Scatter Large-scale Forests in Blender #b3d #tutorial

My lap is ho omen 16...16 gb ram and 8gb graphics card amd.procesor....can i do this in my lap smoothly?...i don't know much about specification

The camera alignment part for the geonodes method does not work for me. When I replicate your node setup, all the trees rotate the at the same angle according to the camera's rotation instead of rotating at different angles to face the camera object.

the trees don't look good at all. they still look very flat. you miss a lot of nuance in each tree due to to the lack of light scatter and SSS. All the trees look the same.. light on top darker on the bottom and that look is consistent throughout the image regardless of the location of the trees. we haven't cheated with 2D cards for years in 3D in our studios. Apps like Clarrisse and Houdini can take it. Even C4D w/Octane or Redshift can. Cards are still useful in Nuke still in a pinch. Don't be afraid of making your work look the best it can.

I suspect the Y-axis bit was a bug that's just been carried forward forever for compatibility.
