I was all in........until it was disclosed this has a 4-cylinder turbo. Just nuked ability to tow with this thing, which is crucial for overlanders and those who have boats.

Why is the auto industry only introducing really expensive products . A company should focus on introducing lower priced options ? Governments should subsidize more modest modes of vehicles .

At least give us a V6 engine option - no hybrid, no turbo

@ TOYOTA - could you please give us the actual Land Cruiser 300 too? Pretty pease? Everybody else in the world has it, why not those of us in the US? I thought we were your best customer, why are we being deprived from your best SUV. At least give us one edition of it, the GR SPORT. Oh and if you do decide to give us the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, please upgrade the rear end, the current one looks good everywhere except the rear end, it looks like a cargo van, give it a slanting rear end kind of like other Toyota SUV’s like the Sequoia, Highlander, Rav4, etc, to give it that sporty/luxury appearance instead of that boxy cargo van type of a look. Please give it the tundra hybrid engine and interior too bcuz the current interior looks doesn’t look very American. PLEASE Toyota.

It's a darn shame they didn't put the Powertrain from the Tundra/Sequoia into this model. The offered powertrain is underwhelming.

Well, after having a Nissan Patrol, a Land Rover Discovery, a Kia Sorento and in 2018 a Land Cruiser 150, it is the first time that I have changed the entire clutch in a car (with only 50,000 km). It seems that I am not the only one that has happened to him. The Toyota warranty looks the other way. I have been driving with a manual transmission for 40 years, I think it is not due to misuse. From buying the best vehicle, to being totally disappointed.
I HOPE THEY HAVE SOLVED THIS PROBLEM.

Degrading the NAME! 4-cylinder Hybrid and only tows 6000lbs...WTF! This is NOT a Land Cruiser! 70 years of heritage out the door! I'll keep my 100 series Land Cruiser!

Do not be fooled. This LAND CRUISER iteration is only "looking and bluffing," mechanically speaking and performance wise it has less than a 4Runner. Very disappointed. Land Cruiser a 2.4 liter motor, boxed frame, Are you kidding me? Turbo ? This is a joke !! WHen you are in the wild, you need simple and rugged reliability, easy to repair stuff, not coloring, electronics and BS stuff. Very, disappointed.

I think the Landcruiser and 4Runner should stay with Normal Gas Engines. Specially if you’re off-roading in desert areas. It’s gonna be too hot for Batteries.

Do I question the longevity of the powertrains reliability, yes. Am I looking forward to tricking one of these out, for sure
