If I had all the tools you have and a workshop, I would be making them also, but I just sit with a craft knife and whittle them from a bit of firewood, and I bet they work just as well..

In the beginning you said you were planning to throw the scrap wood in the garbage? Shame on you. Never throw scrap wood in the garbage, that's wasteful. If you're not creative enough to utilize it, don't know anyone who can utilize it, either burn it for heat, or chip it for mulch, or something. Jeez.
