Great video! Evinrudes 1978-79 service manual show a picture of using a “wire and gator clip..” and I have seen people use a gator clip and a large zip tie, but only for 9.9s. I like the red straw, better to see when you’re alone.

I have a question for you I have an outboard Mercury 1982 80 2 stroke it’s my first boat I redid the carbs the boat runs good out of water and in water but when I put it in gear it stalls is it a timing issue. By the way I read it all the gas lines filters I think I might’ve played with the throttle cable idol stop screw maybe that’s what fucked up

Yeah, I liked it, probably best to just buy a new cam roller every ten years or less, just to avoid a lumpy sticky action, never enough lube, always spray under the hood with pump action WD40, after ever use, keeps the bugger beautiful

Hi Matt, any idea what would cause a tick, tick, tick sound after releasing trim button when trimming down a motor from 80 percent down to 90 percent down? Motor is a 2023 Merc 200 hp . Any help will be appreciated, and save me a excruciating trip to the dealer

Motorcycke mechanic for 35 yrs, The only true way to do it us with vacuum synch guages, drill a hole into each side inlet manifold, dye a threaded tube with cover plug, you will be amazed at how smooth ,fast and how much more useable power they have , then jet the carb👍

THAT HAS BEEN IN THE OEM FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL FOR OVER 50 YEARS IT EVEN SHOWS YOU HOW TO MAKE IT AND MODIFY THE ALLIGATOR CLIP TO ACCOMMODATE HOW TO ATTACH IT TO THE THROTTLE SHAFT ALSO USED OTHER DIFFERENT OUTBOARD MOTORS FROM A 2 HP THRU 300 HP. YOU PROBABLY ARE USING A JOKE BOOK SERVICE MANUAL WHICH ARE NOT EVEN WORTH USING THEM FOR TOILET PAPER. TRY READING THE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL UNDER SYNCHRONIZATION KNOWN HAS SINK AND LINK TIMING PICK UP

How you call that little plastic roller I need it for a 150 vmax Yamaha

Looks like what i have 87 johnson 150 v6 i need to take my carbs off and clean em. Then i might look at this, to take off the carbs i need to take off the link arm to all the carbs, how do i do that and will i mess something up? New to all of this. Thanks!

Very cool tool! Still learning, but my newly acquired 96 Johnsn 60 is running great, so I dont want to mess with it! Maybe a differnt prop,
