Thanks for having me Paul! Fun fact, Paul made the most delicious bread that I’ve ever tasted.
ОтветитьI think Ariel’s playing would best be described as “pretty.” Inspirational.
ОтветитьI’m actually understanding this!
Ответить15.35 😹
ОтветитьNice to know all that, now play like Frusciante haha
ОтветитьLess is more, good to know thinking numbers not a bad thing...Will start cycling thru inversions of my I IV V all over the fretboard ....
Ответитьthanks Paul, this dudes a legend, heaps clear explanation
ОтветитьI ended this video with a page full of notes (in both senses). Thank you for this.
ОтветитьGotta give Paul credit…even though this is pretty basic information, he sells it like it’s the first time he’s heard about it. I assume in an effort to make beginners feel comfortable…what a guy ❤
Ответитьhow do I start learning this? Start with triads basics and go from there? Try to memorise or try to understand how they are build up?
ОтветитьI’m 45 & been playing since I was 13. I never learned 1note just tabs. I got Lucky, my Uncle is in the Bluegrass Hall Of Fame & has a Guitar Shop & I learned most by sitting down with his friends and playing, parroting what they played. It’s weird, I can hear the music & know exactly how to play it & know where the song is going.
ОтветитьWhenever two immensely musically gifted, yet simultaneously humble and modest individuals come together, it results in an amazing video with high added value for us. Thank you for that!
ОтветитьWhat to the Chinese mafia have to do with the guitar
ОтветитьYeah, I prefer working with the number system. too, as it frees me up to transpose.
ОтветитьGuys are makin sweet lovin to those strings lol
ОтветитьReally great information presented for all musicians, not just guitar players.
ОтветитьAriel's courses on TrueFire are all about targeting notes using Triads. Hands down some of the best teaching material I've come across in my 40 years of playing.
ОтветитьAriel Polsen is the most melodic and dynamic player. Always very generous of his time and techniques. And an awesome songwriter on top of that! More people need his music in their life!
ОтветитьI can't put into words how much I hate stratocasters
ОтветитьHe's Canadian... means he can only be in a band of three (Rush, Triumph).. LOL... just kidding
ОтветитьI AM SO FUSTRATED TRYING TO LEARN THIS.... CAN SOMEONE HELP ME. JESUS, I FEEL LIKE AM GONNA SMASH MY GUITAR... IVE BEEN TRYING TO LEARN THIS FOR OVER 3 MONTHS AND I CAN ONLY GET THE FIRST PART CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. it would be very much appreciated.
ОтветитьYou have those same chords in A major too. E Mixo yes because of the flat 7 chord and E is home... but you could play a major or E Mixo or their major pentatonic...e Mixo is a derivative of A major
ОтветитьBest video on the internet for learning the fretboard
ОтветитьI agree with you, Ariel. It's just time.
ОтветитьI’ve been chasing triads for 50 years. Still haven’t caught them all.
ОтветитьSounds like Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks.
What amp settings are you using?
agree about dynamics - so many people don't even know how to i swear
Ответитьis it just me or is the underlying theme of the song in the beginning very close to "slow dancing in a burning room" by john mayer?
ОтветитьThere is a couple of years practice in this. Ariel is great at explaining. Its made me want to lock myself in my music room
Ответитьfkg awesome
ОтветитьWatching this video was a big light bulb moment for me , seeing how you could practically use them. Thank you for all the tips!
Ответитьthat strat is buzzing
ОтветитьAll I hear is strings rattling on frets
ОтветитьChord Tones only way to go. Natural minor with pentatonic = no bad notes😊
ОтветитьIf ever someone's playing mirrored their personality it's Ariel. Warm, intelligent and even if he wouldn't say it, I will, sophisticated. Seems like a great guy.
Ответитьborrrring
ОтветитьTomo fugita has been saying the same thing since years ago
ОтветитьI can't believe I missed this video.
Ariel is in my top 5 players alive. I love his approach and pushing the evolution of the guitar as an instrument. He's an incredible educator and you two make a great duo. The questions you asked were on point Paul, you picked his mind exactly where I needed you to. His technique and technology are great, but his theory and approach to dynamics is really where it's at.
You guys are doing incredible work for the guitar, thank you!
I would love to see Ariel come back to show off/explain some of his slide playing!
I've watched this a few times, it is a such a great video. It really feels like a whole guitar course at double time. Each time I watch, I hear something new to try. Really digging these collaborations, Paul; keep on rocking, man.
ОтветитьDoes beard make you play better guitar? 😢
ОтветитьI'm inspired. Beaut video
ОтветитьAriel makes me proud to be Canadian!
ОтветитьTwo of my favorite guitarists in one video. Excellent.
ОтветитьIt's not a silly little moment
It's not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love that we've been working on
