Fr. Chris, about the woman who did not confess a sin in 24 years which make her monthly confessions invalid. Do she have to confess those sins again that are within the invalid confession she made?
ОтветитьDrive 30 miles 😂😂😂. I only had to drive a couple of miles to different parish. So I am guilty of this as well. Shame is very powerful and humility is very liberating. Thanks for another beautiful lesson.
ОтветитьThank God I am Catholic.
ОтветитьFather Chris, you can preach as long as forever, ahahaha! (you’re worth listening to.) “Explaining the Faith” has helped a lot on my reversion to my Catholic faith. Please, don’t stop…Been praying for you and all the Marian Fathers and brothers and the Marian Helpers…😇😍🌹
ОтветитьThank you so much father for the very important information about confession. It has been helping me a lot me.... May God bless you more and more
ОтветитьFather,
Years ago, I finally screwed up the courage to go to confession for a mortal sin. Imagine my shock, and disappointment when the priest said, “Oh, that’s no big deal.”
JPll said: Do Not Be Afraid. I went to confession after decades. Now you can’t keep me away if anything comes up that must be confessed. Get rid of all the garbage sim. You’ll feel great afterwords.💜🙏🏼
ОтветитьThank you for this amazing and transformative talk. My best friend recommended this and iim so thankful.
ОтветитьThank you Fr Alar for this wonderful talk. I feel the main reason for people to turn away from their catholic faith is because we are not taught in detail about it. I got into new age being born and brought up in a catholic home and never had been to confession for more than 15 years (I would say my entire life since I didn't confess all my sins before) because I never knew the importance of it unless I heard your talk. I never remember teaching us the importance of mass and what happens during the mass. I lived my life just like anybody else lived justifying myself what was wrong or right according to my terms or what I believed was wrong or right. It was after listening to your talks I turned away from new age and embraced Jesus, his importance in my life, why confession is so important, why attending mass is important and why prayers are important in our daily lives.
ОтветитьThese talks are invaluable. Catholic for 50 plus years, I admit, with some shame, that I don't know everything about Catholicism. Our faith is soooo deep and wonderful. Most of my life, I have done the "minimum"....weekly mass, made all the Sacraments, etc. But it wasn't until I was in my forties that something switched and I wanted and desired to learn and do more. A burning inside, the presence of the Holy Spirit, being more mature, getting closer to death....I don't know exactly what triggered this new desire to learn more, to do more and be more. Some days that burning is low. Other days I can't read and pray enough. As long as the Lord knows me, loves me, and brings me to Him at the end, I can't hope for anything more.
ОтветитьHi Fr thank you for a beautiful video!
I find after confession not feeling quite resolved, because purgatory always comes to mind. Although I see I have received forgiveness there in the moment, I still have this deep feeling that I'm not really 'fully forgiven' for these sins, I will still have to pay for this eventually. And this is very real.
Thoughts?
I just came back to the Church after 10+ years and this video was a big part of getting me to go to confession for the first time in 25+ years. The priest was understanding and allowed me to confess what I could (had a list on my phone of past sins that been on my mind, mortal and venial sin, that I felt I was being told to get off my soul). After confession and doing my penance, I never felt my soul be so clean before and now the sins are no longer on my mind so much. I feel I’m now ready to continue my growth back into the Church. Thanks for the videos, I really do enjoy them.
Ответитьjames 5:16 "confess your sins to one another." So the priest does not confess his sin because he is perfect sometimes.
Ответить🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьWho would have thought that someday I would be 'binge watching' a priest! I am nearly 60 and will be confirmed soon. Thank YOU, Fr. Alar!
Ответитьi just discovered this talks of Father Chris few weeks ago and i am currently watching it little by little. but i noticed that few videos are missing in the playlist. please please do not hide/remove/delete the videos. for people like me who was late to know you. please 😢😢 thank you
ОтветитьI want to go to confession but I have to wait until Easter. My priest has a thick accent and paired with my hearing loss I just don’t understand why I have to wait.
ОтветитьPriests here just give a confession without saying a sin 😮
ОтветитьThank you father chris,, i just go to confession last june 2023 when i got home in my homeland, philippines.. coz, i just watched your precious teaching.. I am working in saudi arabia. No mass here.
ОтветитьThank you Lord Jesus ✨💕🙏🙏🙏✨💕
ОтветитьFr Chris Alar, can you be my confessor?
ОтветитьAn example of how casual sin is in our culture is giving minors condoms and "sex education" instead of wise counsel.
ОтветитьAmen
ОтветитьAmen Father. When I confessed after a long time, I felt really really good. That's when I felt the Lord again whenever I pray or go to church. ❤❤❤
Actually when you have decided to return to God and repent of your sins, telling everything to a priest during confession is easy peasy. You won't even be ashamed at all because you have already discarded it when you repented. Happened to me so it can happen to anyone too. 😉
Forgive me father ! I was seeing penance as a punishment and wondered why you would say go to Eucharistic devotion as penance because I think that should be willingly done but I understand now how it brings us closer through the healing and miraculous presence of Jesus
ОтветитьMy husband has attended an Anglican Catholic Church for more than 30 years. I grew up Roman. Is the Anglican Catholic Church within the “Catholic” church? I need To go to confession after many years. Do I need to go to a Roman church?
ОтветитьAlso I was Consecrated to our Blessed Mother on 4/29/23, I took 33 lessons with Father Michael Carlson and loved every bit of it. Thank you Father.❤
ОтветитьThis has been an amazing talk on confession which you’ve really educated me on confession which I had no idea. I’m 70 years old today a Catholic all my life took all my vows with the Catholic Church. I stayed with you to the end. I’m very amazed what I just learned. I live in Hawaii and try to watch you as much as I can. I love the rosary and divine mercy which I recite thus daily every morning as soon as I get and also during the day. I have a cousin who was a Brother and belonged to the Marian’s . He passed away several years ago. I want to continue and listen to your talks. You make it so interesting as I want to continue with you. Can you please pray for me Father and I thank you very very much!!!! Amen ❤
ОтветитьFather Chris, what of the Priest doesn’t here your confession in a confessional, but rather in an open cry room attached to the main church. The priest didn’t help with the confession, I basically had to wing it. I hope that confession still counted 😢🙏🏽🙏🏽.
ОтветитьI haven’t been to confession in 45 years. I’m ready 🙏🏻 Thank you Father Chris
ОтветитьI have a question. With our sins being remitted in confession, why do people still have to go to purgatory?
ОтветитьEdna
Amen
Amen
ОтветитьAmen
ОтветитьConfession...the only court where you declare yourself guilty and they drop all charges...glory to the Lord!!!
ОтветитьFr, what about those that wanted to go to confession but died before they could go? My mom told me of never having confessed a sin of impurity when she was young meaning every confession she made was invalid. She was elderly and physically impaired and mentally ill and died a few days before I could to get her to confession, while I was in the process of making arrangements for her to go. She was so guilt stricken and very sorry and remorseful and I am haunted by the thought that she may be in hell because she didn't get to confession. She suffered immensely her whole life from mental illness and I never once heard her complain. Fr, please pray for the repose of her soul. Am I guilty for not getting her to confession sooner? I cared for her by myself and had no one to help me. I have had many Masses and Gregorian Masses said for her, will she ever get to heaven??
ОтветитьThank you Father Chris, it was your session that got me to ask my husband to go to confession. They also said that 1confession = 💯 exorcist.
My husband ask me what I want for my birthday, I told him, the only thing I want is for him to go to confession. He was hesitated at first and said, he will buy me an expensive bracelet jewelry that I always wanted, but I told him that his soul is more important to me than some jewelry. He’s been going to confession almost every month and it saves him and also helps our marriage tremendously.
Thank you
Venerable Fulton Sheen says “Apparently everyone believes they are immaculately conceived.”
ОтветитьEvery saint was once a sinner, and every sinner can become a saint.
ОтветитьThankyou and God Bless you Father for all you teach. You teachings are so spot on and meets the spiritual needs we have.
ОтветитьThank you father for sharing this wonderful information. 🙏
ОтветитьFather Alar could you talk about the sins of the tongue I read her diary could you tell us about that Thankyou
ОтветитьLove it 😀 thanks Fr., God bless you 🙏
ОтветитьThanks Fr Chris 🙏♥️😇very interesting and informative !
Ответить⛺️ still confiused. Lord please help me .
ОтветитьHi father Chris i would like to say thank you very much for a better understanding about confession.
I have never done a deep confession because I did believe that I can talk straight to God Jesus Christ and I found it hard to confess to the priest because I really didn't know what to say to the priest.
Listening to you now I know what I need to say. So again thank you with all my heart and may God bless you and your parish of divine mercy 🙏🏼
My niece made her first reconciliation yesterday. After she was done, the priest told the usher he wanted to talk to my brother and proceeded to tell my brother that my niece mentioned she wasn’t going to mass (there have been extenuating circumstances due to illness) and that she didn’t know her prayers. My niece forget her act of contrition because she got really nervous. I assume that would fall under breaking the seal of confession?
ОтветитьMy last confession is since 2010 when I was working a twelve step program. But I feel the need to go back to confession and do it more often.
ОтветитьThis DB Martin and others are all saying the same thing first they say Fallen Angels become demons then they say these Giants are the ones that are fallen angels well which one is it fallen angels hardknock Giants Giants are a mixture of Angel and human they are not fallen angels they do not turn into demons which does not make sense at all who are these people who is this Debbie Martin sounds like a Protestant Protestants do a lot of speculating in symbolizing everything's a symbol to them they are forcing a piece of the puzzle that does not fit
ОтветитьI've recently been to a confession, and confessed my deep sorrow and regret over anything and everything that I've done in my whole life, whether confessed, forgotten or ashamed to confess and was given an absolution with the words, "I absolve you of ALLLLLLL of your sins". Does this mean I don't have to back 30 years ago and bullet point list all of my sins from my youth? At my age now I cannot remember all of my sins, and I've been confessing now since 1994 when I converted to Catholicism. I'm afraid if I've missed a few along the way, by forgetting them, or indirectly referring to them. Lately I've been having 3 particular commissions of sin plaguing my dreams, and my waking thoughts, so I fear they may not be fully confessed nor absolved from the Sacrament. Or could this merely be a ploy from the enemy to detract me from my prayer life and spiritual good works as such? Like, don't pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, you're a sinner it's no use, or "Don't go visit those senior citizens homes any more, you've done this sin or that sin, its a waste of time and insulting to God that you would do that".( little whispers in my soul those are)
sorry such a long post.
